Snoaring have something to do when you're tired?

My sister told me earlier that I snoared a lot while I was sleeping. She said I might be that tired because I snoared so hard. I was thinking, does snoaring have something to do when you are tired? As far as I can remember, I haven't done anything stressful or tiresome during the day. Or is there any complications you know if you snoar? :)

Factors That Causes (Provokes) Snoring The reason for snoring in some people is not known however there are certain factors that contribute to snoring. The following are potential causes of snoring: i. Sleeping On Your Back In this sleeping position gravity pulls the jaw and tongue down and back. This as a result, causes the mouth to open and the tongue to drop back into the airway which in turn causes the narrowing of the air passage. ii. Smoking Smoking may cause the swelling and inflammation of the lining of the throat which in effect causes the throat to become more narrow. That is, it increases nasal congestion and mucous in the throat area. iii. Eating a large meal before bed a full stomach when sleeping presses upwards on the diaphragm and can lead to labored breathing. iiii. Family related Have a history of relatives who snore. Snoring tends to run in families. iv. Head shape I know you are at awe with this one but having a round-shaped head rather than a long, thin head can be a factor. In round-headed people, the tissue has to fall back a shorter distance to narrow the throat Need more details check the site given below. http://universalfacts.blogspot.com/2006/04/why-do-people-snore-what-causes.html

My boyfriend and younger brother often laugh at me when I sleep and snore my heart out..lol but that doesn't happen everyday though..maybe just during those days when I had a pretty good sleep...or maybe, like what your sister said, when I was pretty tired... could be physically or mentally tired. But am worried a bit coz I've heard somewhere that a person who snores hard could have some illness like heart problems..which I hope I don't have. God forbid.

I have heard that too. My Dad snores a lot and currently, he has heart problems. Well, i think this is the case when you snores everytime you sleep. But if you only snore once in a while, i think that's just because you are tired. :)

I have always heard it has something to do with that hangy down thing in the back of your throat(uvula) being relaxed. So I imagine if you are real tired then you may be relaxing everything more.

absolutely! I could say that because sometimes when i'm really really tired and i fell asleep, i sometimes awaken because of the noise of my own snoaring. it's funny but true. But, it only happens when i'm really really tired.

I think snoring is due to sleeping on your back - with your mouth open, the air passes through both the mouth and the nose at the same time causing that vibration. Do you happen to sleep on your back? maybe if you are over tired you do not change positions as much during sleep so tend to snore more?

Usually I never snore. But when I am terribly tired or sick I snore. May be when mentally we are tired, we snore. It is only my guess.
