I love Dali's works. His painting are not like the other artists which bears few lines or patches and let the people infere those works. Dali's painting contains recognisable objects which speaks of itself. The concept and his thoughts are well narrated and expresses in each of his paintings.
I love the detailed works which and complete in itself yet speaks a lot of them to work about.

I like Ravi Varma.. a painter in the court of the King of Travancore, South India. His paintings defined the genre of Indian paintings of his age. He used to paint the portraits of the then kings and they are till date a no match. Few of his paintings are on display in the Mysore palace. Fantastic they are

There are some other good indian painters also like Satish Gujral, Jamini Roy, Amrita Shergill etc. I like Satich Gujrals and Amrita Shergill's paintings. Although two of the more successfull painters are M.F.Hussain and Tyeb Mehta.
I feel M.F.Hussain taken the help of controversial issues for getting famous like painting of Maa Sarswati, Madhuri and Taboo Episodes..
Tyeb Mehta was in lime light when couple of years back he sold the painting at highest cost.

I should check those indian painters out! I love to research further about other artists I haven't heard of before.
My most favorite painter in the world would have to be Australian artist 'Charles Blackman'. I find his works to be very sensitive and emotional and I like artworks that can reach in and touch me like that.
