My former employer may become my new employer.

When I was 20 years old I worked for our local Dunkin Donuts. I would wake at 5:00 a.m., dress in my bright pink uniform, and ride my Schwinn bicycle to town. The ride took me about 20 minutes. The only time I really complained was when it was raining. I would carry my uniform in a plastic bag and put it under my raincoat. I had a clear umbrella that I put over my head and tucked the handle into my raincoat to keep it steady. What a sight that must have been to see me peddling my bike at 5:30 in the morning in the pouring rain with an umbrella over my head. Well, for those of you who don't know, I have been unemployed since September 2006. I have applied to numerous job openings without success. My brother works at Dunkin Donuts and told the manager that I was looking for work and that I had prior experience working at Dunkin Donuts. She said that I should come down and get an application. Hopefully they will give me the hours I need to work around my schedule as well. Sometimes they are willing to give you the hours you need to work. We shall see. Yes, it has been years since I was a Dunkin Dolly. I even have my old name tag. Maybe my former experiences will be what lands me this one. Guess I should brush up on my lines "Would you like a donut or bagel with your coffee?"

Dunkin Donuts was a franchise in the U.K. for a number of years, then suddenly just closed down, no reason was given, but it seemed to be a reasonable business, and there were a lot of complaints from the franchise holders that they were loosing their businesses. I've enjoyed eating there several times in Glasgow. So good luck with your job application, and hope you are soon derving all these wonderful donuts.

That is great that you may be working again very soon, even if it is with your former employer. Did you like working there before? This is why people should never burn bridges when they leave a job because you may need that company again later down the road. I have worked with the same company twice myself as I worked with a bank twice. I am sure you will be the best employee they have ever had.

Am glad something is coming along. It should be good to get back to a schedule. I do hope that they can use you when you feel you are available. The next job might come easier now that you might be working again. Worth a shot and the hope that it could lead to bigger and better things. Good luck with this employment situation.

Dunkin Donuts was my first management experience years ago. Back then they had counters and people actually sat as you waited on them. Things have changed so much. I see some of the sites that I managed now there is no seating and they all have drive through windows. It's funny. But the coffee has changed and I am still addicted. Hope it goes well for you. I will say you had a lot of ambition riding your bike in the rain.

It is an income and that is what is important. Brush up on those lines, put on your brightest smile and give it a shot. Good Luck.

If you have the opportunity to work, you can work at Dunkin Donuts for the time being while you look for a different job.

Oh wow, I hope you get this job. I have a feeling its not what you wanted but look at it like a stepping stone. Who knows, maybe you can make your way to management. But I would also like to say that there is nothing wrong with working at Dunkin Donuts. Its one of my favorite places but I don't think I could work there because it would be hard to smell those donuts all day and not eat any.lol

You don't sound happy at the prospect of going back to work for Dunkin's? A job is still a job and the money will help bills. Chances are it will be a flexible schedule and you can keep looking for a job you do want. Maybe they'll bring you in with the idea of making you a shift manager? That would pay better than just working the counter. I hope things work out for you! :)

I really hope you get this job. I'm sure you'll feel much better to be working again. I'm devastated that I never found a dunkin donuts when I was in the states the other year. It's one of those brands that I've always heard of on TV and movies etc, but we don't have it here in the UK. Tell me, are dunkin donut shops always full of fat cops?

That would be a good reunion then.. i hope you would get the job. At least it would be a lot easier for you to get the hang of it coz of your past experience. Keep brushin' those lines and couple it with a smile like the way i see with Dunkin Donuts crew. I love Dunkin Donuts too. I always drop by at Dunkin at least twice a month and my familiar line would always be "a latte please, a bavarian & a blueberry. a box of assorted munchkins too for take out later. thanks".

Wow... I did not realize there are still areas where work is hard to find. I live in an area that depending on what type of job you want, you can usually find one. I was without work for about 5 months last myr, but have been lucky enough to be at a job I enjoy since July. Good Luck with this, and hope you find something soon.

Oh yes it can be quite dangerous riding a bike in the rain, no wonder you did not like it much. Yes I do know that you have been trying to find employment for a long time but I did not realize that it was this long. Oh that is great that you may be working soon again, I wish you luck though as I know what it is like without any work and the money would surely help you out. Keep me informed if you get the position and I will pray that something will work out for you.

it is not so good to be reemployed by the same boss in my country, it sucks, i am sure, and well, i think nowadays experience in working can be very precious if you wanna find a goood job to be cooly paid. i work as hard as you do, i get 6 every morning to see my studnets and i have things to do from that special moment on, and i finish my work at about 6 in the afternoon, and sometimes i have to work evenings, 3 times in a week, and i have only a day off in a week, but i get very little pay., not to mention the bonus and such things at the end of the year, i am looking for a job every monent, when i think about the job. and i even did a lot of efforts on the net. hoping that i can find a translation job online, but i failed so far, since i have sent a lot of my resumes to webistes and post my resumes on some translators sites, but no single request was received. poor me. don't worry about you r job and boss, cos you could still be feeling happpy when u think of me.

My first job was at Dunkin Donuts! I had a lot of fun there. It was a great experience. I couldn't eat donuts for some years after I left, but I liked it none the less! I wish you luck in your new employment endeavors. There is nothing wrong with being a Dunkin Dolly. I remember when my mom would see me get dressed up for work, she would say "Time to make the donuts!" then she would tell me to bring donuts home for dad. LOL
