I came on this website to find answers for few of my questions. Few of my neighbours are catholics and they strictly follow the religion 10 commandments Adam Eve etc etc. They would try their best to convince anybody to come to chruch and follow the Christanity. Till a time, I was fine with all this. But, I lost my mind, when these people claimed that priest in their chruch can see visions from God and all the catholics started to decide the course of their life depending on such vision. One of my friend's (she is a non-catholic) boyfriend (he is a catholic) broke of the relnship of 3 years, just because one of these priest had a vision thay they are not going to be happy together...When a catholic has to marry a non-catholic, non-catholic has to get converted to a catholic...how does this ensure a happy life.... More astonishing thing is that this priest perform excorcism and the spirits who are about to leave the possesed body say that Jesus is the only GOD. I myself has seen many live video recordings about excorcism of my local people. Can somebody explain me about this....waht is this!!???

In the first place, Jesus is not a God but the son of God. You are right about the conversions through marriage in India, but I think that religion should have no part to play in love. If one truly loves someone, then accept the loved one with all their good qualities as well as the flaws, pockmarks and blemishes.

Every religion has some charlatans, so if you believe in something or some one, well the choice is entirely yours. This (India) is a free country.

Tarachand thanks for ur reply... I wish I can do something to eradicate such charlatans....cuz they are ruling many peoples life...but u cannot blame entirely on them...people who are following them are not brave enough too...they need someones help to move on in their life....these two type of people are mutually present in this world...

I personally think that living one's own life happily and peacefully without harming others is far more important, because it is impossible to change every person's mind to your own way of thinking and your own ideas.

That's a pretty deep discussion there. I used to be Catholic for 10 years until I was out of the house and learned some things about other relgions. There are many religions out there and each of them has something right that they're doing. However, to only follow the 10 commandments is wrong. Jesus did not abolish the old laws of the prophets but he came to fullfil them. My preacher says he has visions from G-d and many times those visions have come to pass...as well as the dreams and prophcies. Now, about the evil spirits, I'd stay away from that room as well as pork. Why? Well Jesus casted evil spirits into swine and he said "Do as I do and follow me."

hey Kaeli thanks for the response... I would just like to know how much you would let your life rule by such preachers who claim to have visions!!! would you too give up a relnship of 3 years, if your preacher says that you and your fiance would not be happy together, cuz its against the GODs will.....

*rolls eyeballs and sighs* I remember when I took a marriage test with my first hubby (for the Catholic church) and they said we scored the lowest they've ever seen. Granted, my marriage to him was the longest one. When my current hubby and I wanted to get married, the preacher would not marry us because he said it wasn't the right time. We did it anyways and perhaps he was right. But I didn't want to continue to live with him without being married. Preacher doesn't tell us what to do and what not to do to the extent where our lives depend on it. He lets us do our own thing, but he'll warn us. I'm still learning the ropes with this man, but my hubby puts his whole life into his teachings.

I believe God is a inner light more than just belief. It's a connection between me and my innerself. Therefore, when I pray to God it's not God that I pray to but I my innerself that I am trying to connect to and it's always answer my question, my prayers

Catholicism is not what you have witnessed in that area because being Catholic means not just obeying the 10 commandments but putting everything that Christ teaches into practice. And about the priest who sees vision it is a serious matter that should be reported to the local bishop of that diocese for investigation otherwise it is not right to believe in these priest who are seeing visions. And regarding these visionary priest if what he sees in his vision is in consonant with the biblical teachings maybe, just maybe is should be believe but it is a matter to be decided by the local diocese upon investigation because it is a dangerous thing. and about exorcism there are only few priest who are given the faculty to exorcise bad and unclean spirits and it should be proven to be a bad or unclean spirits before exorcism is done again it should be reported to the local bishop of that area.
