Which movies have changed your life?

I know it seems ridiculous, but movies tend to inspire me to think outside the box. How about you? What movies have you seen that effect the way you live? love? I would have to say Contact(Jodie Foster, Matt Maconoughay) taught me that believing is the key to discovery. People told her over and over that there was nothing outside of this universe that was living, but she kept listening and it lead to her fame. It also gave a bit of a different swing on religions, and was really interesting. Pan's Labyrinth (Ivana Baquero, Doug Jones) inspired me to see more subtitled films, and changed my view of a "happy ending". Silence of the Lambs (Jodie Foster) instilled an interest in forensics and mysteries within me. Now I look at everything from several angles before judging it. What about you?

the movie that changed my life in a way or other was "The Passion of Christ" (movie of Mel Gibson) .. i am a christian and i know very well what was Jesus's life. But this movie shows in a very violent and plausible way, how Jesus could be agressed and humiliated during his passions .. during the violent scenes i started to cry. i couldn't hold it. it was way to much .. In Bible is said that every man is making a sin he is hurting Jesus Himself. This movie is very touching and should make us all kinder.

Same here with me. Mine is also the "passion of the Christ". It totally shows how great Jesus loves us despite of who and what we are. From the scene where Jesus was scourged at the Pillar until the movie ended, tons of tears were flown out from my eyes. I'm a sinner, i'm not perfect. And through this film, Jesus gives me the assurance how loving He is and if I'm gonna sincerely repent, He's still very ready to accept me with arms wide open unconditionally. I may not be able to explain everything how I feel in a very detailed manner, but one thing's for sure. Jesus is the Best and He is my God, my personal God. :)

The movie "what the bleep do we know anyways" was a real eye opener for me. This movie really made me think about the world around me and about how I felt and acted towards it. Another good one is the secret but not as good as the first one.

The passion of Christ really touched my life. if he could do that for me and people that do not love him, why wont i love him back. I have never been myself since i watched that film. I said to myself. truely, it is only God that can do this.

I wouldn't say "changed my life" but there were some movies that really impressed me, some of them to tears... mostly dramas, movies in which (in some measure) i identified myself with - A walk to remember, The Notebook, If only, Sweet November...

I lot of movies have really inspired me but the one that I could remember is the 'Flight Plan' by Jody Foster too. She believed in what she felt and know no matter what everybody is telling her that she is just delusional and grief sticken. The Lord of the Rings also inspired me that good will always triumph over evil. 'Everafter' by Drew Barrymore inspired me to be strong as a woman and to ascert oneself no matter what.

Well, I definately have to agree with Contact. It really did inspire me, not only for the reasons you mentioned, but also because she was able to do what few people find themselves capable of doing. She was able to admit that she had been wrong. Ofcourse, she wasn't wrong about their being intelligent life elsewhere in the universe, but she was able to admit that she wouldn't believe herself (if she hadn't seen it). She was able to admit that she was going off of faith, and what she knew in her heart, rather than the scientific data. She was able to reach a compromise between faith and science that so few will ever reach. And, I find that superbly inspiring. Next ~ "What Dreams May Come" (I think that's the movie) with Robin Williams, Cuba Gooding Jr.... That movie was just wonderful for me! It really made me think about all kinds of religions, spiritualities, afterlife theories, and so on. And, it was so beautifully well thought out. Minority Report (with Tom Cruise), because it showed a thoughtful, intelligent possibility to what fear and anger can lead to. It also showed a negative side to what you originally view as a positive change. Wow ~ if I really think about it, there are really just soooo many!

"The Secret" dvd changed my life. I knew about the "law of attraction" prior to watching this movie, but this dvd gets right to the point of how life works. And I can see evidence in my own life & how it's been working for me. If you want more information about "the secret" you can visit www.thesecretworldwide.com and watch some of the video there. Oprah, Larry King & many others have done shows on it.

It's a wonderful life has always been a movie that has affected the way I deal with life. Saw it too many years ago to remember and when things get really bad, Im feeling really low or just thinking about what difference I have made in life, I think about that film and realise that we dont really know what impact we have but if we try and treat everyone like we want to be treated ourselves, can't be doing too badly in life. and the Alister Sim version of Scrooge - christmas just isnt christmas unless Ive seen that movie
