Who doesn't? I think all of us are gifted with the miracle called "Mom". It is unfortunate if you don't have a good relationship with your mom, because they are the best to have in one's life.
I LOVE my MOM a LOT and wrote a poem for her. I have been away from home for almost over a year now, so I miss her even more.
Read my poem here on my blog and tell me what you think:
http://reflectionsofthehearts.blogspot.com/
Stop for a moment today and take time to tell your mom how much you love her! We don't need a "Mother's Day" to make moms feel special...any day is just as good!:)

You are right Mother's Day should be 365 days a year not just one day. We all think our mums are one in a million and worship the ground they walk on, after all it's thanks to our mums who brought us into the world, looked after us, always been there for us in the good times and bad and will put us first. Thank you for sharing such a beautiful poem, what a great tribute!

Your poem was great! I love my mom too- She really is my best friend! Sure growing up I didn't feel that way- she was a mom to me not a friend-- Now she is both! She is the one I always go to and tell everything! I tell my mom all the time how much she means to me- I only hope that when my daughter is older she will think the same of me! She is 10 now--

The poem was beautiful! My mom and I shared a bittersweet past as I grew. I had alot of issues as a teenager and took the out on everyone. Now, at 43 I am just learning how to cope with the past and mom and I are the best of friends. I only wish that it could have happened sooner. Mother's Day is every day as far as I am concerned.

Your poem for your mother is just absolutely beautiful, except for the being far away it fits my mom perfectly. I also read the other one "Thinking of you" I think was the title - that was great also. Afraid I've never been good with poetry but have always admired people who have a talent for it - you certainly do.

mom in this world is a priceless creature like a real pearl in an ocean
even my mom is dearest of all, but in today's busy life we dont pay attention towards our parents which is very bad n hurting
so lets discuss what can be done to avoid it
hmm i guess kiss her every morning with a tight hug??
i know sounds very kiddish but has a lot of effect n shows a lot of concern, isnt it???

No, I can't say I ever loved my mother. Now before you start throwing things, she never loved me. I know this for a fact because she told me. Over and over she told me. She didn't care who heard her. Neither one of my parents wanted me. Dad wanted another son. Mom and I always fought like cats and dogs. She never changed. There was not one ounce of love from her even when she knew she was dieing. I never had kids because of her.

I like your poem. It really shows and express how you truly love your mom.
I too love my mom so much. We really have a good relationship. We are always there for each other all the time. My mom has made a lot of sacrifices for me, and everything that I am right now, I owe it all to her.

What a lovely discussion to start my green goddess! I love my mum to bits and can't imagine not having a great relationship with her. She is like my best friend, in fact, I talk with her more about life than I do with anyone else, including my hubby!
At the moment we're having some work done at our place, so hubby and I have moved in with my folks. Every day she cooks dinner for us and even when we say we're going to cook tomorrow she does it. By the time I get back from work and hubby gets back from staying the with builders all day she has our food ready and waiting for us. She is a real diamond and loves going out of her way to cook our favourite foods for us. You know a lot of guys whine about their mother-in-law? Well my husband reckons he's one of the luckiest guys around to have a m-i-l who takes such good care of him and we always let her know how much we appreciate her! Sometimes I wish my brother would show mum how much he appreciates her too but he's pretty caught up in his own life, even though up until he moved out a year ago she spoilt him rotten! Come on guys, show mum how much she means to you! x

The poem you have created for your mom was very beautiful, greengal...and though I still see my mom once in a while, I still feel like your poem suits my mom. And yeah, I do love my mom so much, especially now that I've grown up and realized how lucky I am having my mom not leaving my side even just for a single moment in my life's struggle. She has always been there when I was in uttermost joy and happiness, and those times that all I needed was a shoulder to cry on and words of reassurance that things are getting fine soon.
I love my mom and I always remind her of that.

You start a good topic that arouse my miss of my mother. Since I entered university, I had to live at university and is far away from home. Until now, I'm still far away from home. I can see my mom 4 months later. It's really a torture. Every night before I fall asleep, I think of my relatives, especially my mom. Among our family members, I love my mom most, and it seems without any reason. I think mom is the first and best friend of everyone in his whole life. I remeber someone has said that "your mom will never desert you even if you are deserted by all other people, cause you are her dear child." Whenever recollect this saying, I want to cry. It reminds me of my mom's hardships all for me. As soon as we were born, our moms begin to look after us. Even if we grown up, we are still children to her. So keep your mom's image in mind forever, and call her every week just to tell her you love her. Moms do not ask anything from us, what they all want is happiness and health of us.

A few years ago for my mom's birthday I had a tattoo of her name and a butterfly put on my shoulder. I chose her name to personalize it instead of just 'mom' and I chose the butterfly because she's obsessed with them. I thought it was a nice jesture, but instead of being happy all she said was 'what'd you do that for?' I was a little hurt, but she really likes it now.

I love my mother a lot, but I know many women and men out there that do not love their mothers because they have done horrible or unspeakable things to them. I think that if there is a "Mother's Day" and a "Father's Day" there should be a "Children's Day", I know that Japan has a "Children's Day", but none of the other places in this world do. The US does not.

we certainly donot need a mother's day to say it all. i read throughyour piece greengal (after a long wait though, couldnt actually open it). i quite liked it,keep up the good work dear.
its immaterial to put words about my feelings towards my mom, actually i will grope for words. she is special in the things she does and she doesn't and i love her just the way she is, she is fantastic in her own right.
this goes out for her...
Mom's smiles can brighten any moment,
Mom's hugs put joy in all our days,
Mom's love will stay with us forever
and touch our lives in precious ways...
The values you've taught,
the care you've given,
and the wonderful love you've shown,
have enriched my life
in more ways than I can count.
I Love you Mom!

I read your poem and it's beautiful. The words mean a lot to me as I too am far away from my mom and can't just call and say mom, I'm on my way over.
We haven't always been so close. My parents adopted me when I was 10 weeks old, and when I turned 2 they adopted another baby who would become my young sister.
As we grew up, mom made the mistake of choosing a favorite. All the opportunities I was never allowed, my sister was given with no debate. It made for some trying times and as I moved into adulthood, it was agreed that mom and I couldn't spend any great amount if time together.
When I moved overseas it all changed. We call each other twice weekly to share our news and things that have happened. We get on so much better and we've finally spoken about the hurt I felt growing up with my sister being the favorite.
She told me that she never meant to choose one over the other, and she never realized what she was doing. We both cried sharing our thoughts about those years.
We can't bring back those times. Childhood has long gone and I turn 30 next year. But we can make sure we don't miss out on any more times, and thats what we're working on now. Better late than never.

Oh rugrat, I'm so sorry for your childhood, I know how it feels because once and only once my mom picked my bro over me and that hurt terribly. For most part my mom has been equal to both of us. I'm happy that you solved your differences with your mom, as we grow I think we need our mothers more and more.

Oh the poem is beautiful. I wrote a poem in memory of my mother called "Her Greatest Garden". Maybe I can share it with you if you don't mind.
I miss her more each day!

My mother left me when I was 5 years old. She visited off and on till I was 11 years old and that was the last time I saw her. When I was 25 my brother found her in a nursing home in Florida. I live in Texas. I called her and talked to her daily though I didn't have the funds at the time to go see her. She had fought a good fight with cancer and was in remission however it came back and on the morning I was set to leave and go visit her she passed away. I never got to see my mother that last time. So that I could hold her and tell her that I still loved her no matter what the reason for her leaving was. Thanks for posting this so that now I can tell her Momma I love you and I miss you. I forgive you for what ever the reason was that you left me. I know there had to be a good reason for you to leave my brother and I. I know that had I had a chance to really be with you and bond with you again after all those years you would have been the best mother ever.
So yes everyday is Mother's Day and we should all let our mothers know often that no matter what they are loved and appreciated. Just when I thought I would have that chance it was taken from me and I can never get that back.
