Do you know any languages such as PHP or HTML? I am Intermediate-Advanced in HTML, and am creating my own website right now with HTML. I am beginner-intermediate in PHP coding. And, in maybe a year or two, I am going to start learning C++. The reason I am learning PHP and HTML is because I wanted to start and design my own forum software. I began by learning PHP, since I already had 2 advanced HTML users recruited. Then, most of the PHP tutorials wanted me to know HTML, some advanced. So I sidetracked and learned HTML coding, pretty basic stuff, then I found Dreamweaver, and began using that. It is great, since it adds certain code in for you. Now, I am back on track learning PHP. So, do you guys know any languages?

If you want to learn C++ for the fun of it, DON'T!!! Learn Java instead! With C++ you will have to do everything yourself. Java comes with many 'utilities' that will allow you to focus on programming what you want, and not what you need to make what you want work. C++ - reinvent the wheel over and over... Java - get what you want done actually completed!

Haha or man, that isn't good. Next year in High School they are making us take C++. I got out of it all the way until Senior year too, now I am really not looking forward to it, thanks :(. lol, just kidding, I was never looking forward to it.

Don't worry too much about it. The basics of programming are pretty much the same in all the languages. I doubt that in high school they'll require you to learn how to access some stream from a webcam or to write sockets for network programming. Just don't get stuck with C++ if you do decide to go on and learn how to program more. Java is wonderful!!!

No PHP? PHP is amazing, I am learning it now, and I am using Dreamweaver so that can give a lot of little extras into it. It can put in a lot of large chunks of code into it. I really like it over Crimson Editor.

For website building, I know some basic HTML. In integrating website and database, I've learned ASP.NET, PHP, and also JSP. I can say that three of them has the same function, to build a dynamic webpage. Which one is better, it's just the matter of preference. ASP.NET is dependent on windows platform, though. PHP is more suitable for not so big website, while JSP is meant for bigger and more complicated website. If you want to build a simple website, and integrate it with database, better use PHP, coz it's simple (although it does has some disadvantage).
I used dreamweaver before, but there are too many things on the dreamweaver IDE. So, I prefer to build my homepage manually by using notepad. Pretty much used to it by now. =)
