I believe kids are more active to play than to read. Just like us adults, we are more active when we go out and hang out with friends than to study our lessons. Thus, basically, at an early age, we already know that in this life, we need to have fun and recreations rather than to be serious and be very workaholic in everything that we do. :)

We all have different things that we like and dislike don't we? I love to read and so do both of my children - 5 and 13 - they have never known what it is like not to have books around and be read to - although they mostly do it themselves now! Some children will never like reading, some may have learning difficulties such as dyslexia which makes it very hard for them to read and others just need some encouragement!
