Yes we do have an indoor cat and I have had cats all my life. I think as long as you get it fixed and declawed it will be a good indoor pet but you have to keep the litter box really clean or they start going to the washroom around your house. Our cat isnt fixed and every now and then the little bast*rd will spray something and trust me thats a hard smell to get out.

Cats being declawed is very cruel. What if we cut off your finger at your first knuckle and then made you walk on your hands just a few hours after sugery!!! This is cruel... Shoule be illegal..

Our cat has been "grounded" for about 7 years now as in our last home she went missing for almost 3 days and came home with a huge gash in her leg! So she is now an indoor cat and we have no problem! We do take her out the door occasionally but stay with her. I don't think you will have any problems and they are great company.

I guess we were lucky that she adapted to staying indoors as well as she did, and I certainly don't miss the cat fights although she does have them through the window with the cat acroos the road that comes to torment her! lol And the screams are unbearable I must say!

my parent's cat used to wear a collar that ahd a magnet on it so they only she could open the cat door...the silly thing got it stuck in her mouth and wouldn't let me help her. She took off and returned a couple days later with it still in her mouth, and blood all over her face and paws :(
She hasn't worn a collar since, but there's no way you'd be able to keep her inside, she only comes in to eat and sleep usually

My cat is an indoor cat and I wouldn't have it any other way. There are too many dangers lurking outside for cats. Wild animials, poisionous plants, diseased rats. Bad bad stuff. I'd rather know my kitty is safe and sound in the comfortable warm house.

I would love to have an indoor cat, all the ones I have had had been in-door/out-door cats but I would love one that just wanted to stay inside with me, I know someone with three siamese cats and she has the doors open on a nice day and not one of those cats ever step over that door step...they never even want to go outside....I hope you get a beautiful little cat that will love you to pieces.

Thanks lilaclady :) The only thing is I haven't asked the real estate if we're allowed pets yet...it doesn't mention anything on the lease so fingers crossed!

My cat was born outside and got beat up by all the other strays when she was little so now that she can live inside, she does. She still likes to sit by the screen door and greets me as I come in, but the only time she ever tries to get out is when she can see me outside.
The trick I discovered with her litter is to keep it in the bathroom and use scoopable. That way I can scoop out the debris every morning and her box stays clean and I don't have a house that smell of cat.
I also recommend Swiffer brooms if you have hardwood or tile floors because they pick up kitty fur really well.

I have 2 indoor cats. They are no problem. They are both fixed, and they HAVE all their claws. Declawing cats is a cruel thing to do.
Indoor cats live longer and better lives then outdoor cats. They are not around all the dangers of the outdoors, like poisons, cars, mean people, other animals, and the weather. Indoor cats have softer and smoother fur, and they smell much better.
Best of Luck!

We have 2 indoor cats. The only problem we have is that they claw the furniture but that can somewhat be taken care of if you have a scratching post and you keep there claws clipped. Also no matterwhat gender of cat you get, make shure you get them fixed unless you get it from a shelter then it is already fixed.
Males if you can get them fixed beforethey start to spray then they WONT spray. with females if you get them fixed before they go into heat they wont go into heat at all.
The final choice is up to you.

My son has two that are indoor only. The oldest one has been fixed so he's pretty tame. The other hasn't but he's a big scardy cat and stays hide most the time.Neither one really seems to have any interest in going outside. As long as they have thier people they're happy.

i have 2 cats that stay inside at all times. I do not really have a probably with them, except they do need to be trained not to scratch the funiture and climb on the counters but they are pretty fast leaners. My cats love it when i leave my front door open and i have a glass screen door that they can sit and look outside all they want, but they do not try to get out or anything.

we o have an indoor cat and she is so cute...she never go out of the house walking on the earth except by pick up of my niece or nephew. My sister bought her a litter box where she visit every time she need to. For your information - the first place of the cat throw their litter will be the permanent toilet for them. As she have did sh*t at the corner of our tv area at the first time, then we have to put her litter box there. My sister bought a special sand for her that help her to makes her smelly things did not come out and reach the human nose. You can check it at the store for this. My niece gives her bathe always to keep the fur soft. For the male cat i think you should have to ask the the pet doctor to make a small operation on his private thing. This is because when the male cat grow they will search for a mating and this makes them crazy. That's why you can see that they are peeing here and there.

I have four indoor cats and only one tries to go outside. They've all come from shelters and so presumably have been outside before. Just as long as you keep them in, they'll have no problems with it. I like indoor cats better. I can't see myself having a cat that I only see when they feel like coming home or think about them outside and wonder if they just may never come back. Indoor cats I find as well are more friendly and cuddly. Good luck and enjoy!

I've always had indoor/outdoor cats, so it's just seems a little wrong to me to keep them inside all the time. But if everyone seems to be saying that they have no problems with it, then I'm sure I'll be fine ;)
