Does your pet parrot do any tricks?
My senegal parrot and my lovebird both do backflips in my hand. My senegal parrot will also play dead and do somersaults.

My African Grey has quite a few cute sayings. He heard me talking to my son during potty training one too many times, and now will ask visitors "do you need to go poopies?" If people would stop laughing, he might forget it & I wouldn't be so mortified every time it happens. He also tells my daughter that her room needs to be cleaned.
My Conure plays my son's toy piano. I don't think I can post a picture with a reply- but I have shared it in the bird category before.

Yea african greys are quite the talkers aren't they? I've never owned one but I do hear them say a lot of cute things when I see them in petshops.
My sister's lovebird also likes to play around on the keyboard. Too bad he's not heavy enough to actually push any of the keys down.
This isn't exactly a trick, but something funny that happened with the lovebird. Both of my younger sisters were playing chess and I was watching them and holding the lovebird. I said to the lovebird, "If you want to play, go steal the knight." Then I set him down next to the chess board and he actually grabbed the white knight off of the board! I wish I had gotten that on video.

Back many years ago, I used to go to a pet store...this was not my parrot, but when people would say, How cute it can talk....the parrot would say "I can talk, can you fly?"
When little kids walked by it woul say 'Take a bath, take a bath".
Not tricks, not mine..but I thought it fit

Well i have 3 parrots, very beautifull and smarts. They are from Peru.I noticed that if i eat something ,the big male parrot looks at me and became jumpy. In fact he wants to say:"Hei mammy, give me some food from your mouth=))".Or if i whistle,he starts whistling too=)).
Now he is in the period of copulation;and he wants to play with female. But she doesen`t want this,so she hide in her "private house" and stay there all the day=))

I have two ordinary parrots, the boy is green and the girl is completely yellow. Unfortunately they are too scared when i try to aproach the cage. I was hoping to see some changes, but that situation last for a couple months. I don't know what to do, maybe i'll sell it. However i would like to have a talking parrot, but i didn't find one yet.

You should never buy a parrot with the expectation that it will talk. Even with parrot species that are known for their talking ability are not guaranteed to be able to talk. To many times people buy a parrot expecting it to talk and then get rid of it because it doesn't talk. Personality is the first thing you should look for in a bird and talking ability is just a bonus. I've got 5 parrots and only one of them talks and he only says a couple of words. I love them though because they are affectionate sweet birds.
The parrots you have, were they hand raised or parent raised? If they were parent raised then that explains why they are scared. Parent raised birds are more like wild animals than pets. In the future you should only get parent raised birds if you want them to be affectionate.
