what is the main goal of human being?

as a normal human being we all aim to get into a good job, earn a lot, marry a good gal/boy. live happily with our family. and again earn a lot to withstand it's needs and to lead a comfortable life.. but i hope this shouldn't be the only aim. people should try to help for others' living by some possible ways. According to every religion the goal of our life should be attaining 'mukthi' or immortality.. but no one really follows this. no one tries to understand the true cause of life and who is the Almighty..
