At Easter time many nonprofit organizations will take orders for homemad Easter Egg Candy. Their are several different recipes for the various kinds. One year I made so many of them that I was doing it in my sleep. LOL No joke. They sell really well because people dont know how cheap and easy they are to make. I am going to let you in on my secret. Here the two recipes for Easter Eggs that sold the most. I hope you and your family will ejoy making time as well as eating them. They are just wonderful. To Decorate them after they are done, just use a pastry bag and a writing tip or make roses, you decide. They are so good that you may not want to decorate them. Cherry Nut Easter Eggs 1/2 cup milk 1/4 cup butter 6 oz. pkg. vanilla pudding (not instant. It MUST be the cooking kind) 9 oz. maraschino cherry halves; drained 1 cup finely chopped pecans 1 - 2 lb bag confectioners' sugar 1 lb melted chocolate Heat milk, butter and pudding over low heat until well blended and thickened. Remove from heat and add cherries, nuts and enough sugar to make a thick consistency. Form mixture into 10 egg shaped balls. Place on wax paper and chill until firm. Dip cooled eggs in melted chocolate. That is all there is to it. Now how easy was that?? Chocolate Coconut Pecan Easter Eggs Makes 3 large candy eggs. Candy filling: 1/4 c. ( 1/2 stick) butter, softened 5 c. powdered sugar, divided 6 to 7 tbsp. heavy cream 1 tbsp. vanilla 3 pinches salt 1 c. chopped pecans 1/2 c. shredded coconut Chocolate coating: 1 (6-oz.) pkg. semisweet Chocolate chips (1 cup) 3 tbsp. heavy cream 1 1/2 tbsp. light corn syrup To make candy filling, cream butter and 3 cups powdered sugar with an electric mixer. Beat in 6 to 7 tablespoons cream, vanilla and salt. Beat in remaining 2 cups powdered sugar until mixture is creamy. By hand, stir in pecans and coconut. Shape mixture into three large eggs, cover and refrigerate overnight. The next day, make chocolate coating. Melt chocolate chips with 3 tablespoons cream in microwave oven on high power 1 to 1 1/4 minutes, until smooth when stirred. Stir in corn syrup until well-blended. Cool a little, if necessary. Spread coating over eggs. Refrigerate until chocolate is set.

Village Anne,Your gonna make me gain 50 pounds, lol! Can you use these receipes in Candy molds? I saw some Easter candy molds and was thinking about making some Easter Candy and these receipes would be perfect.I also wanted to use your crock pot candy to make some easter candy. How do those molds work. Do you have to spray them or does the candy just pop out?

I really wish I could be this ambitious. As I only have my grandson to think about for Easter candy, I will just be heading for the candy aisle to purchase a few goodies to place in his basket. Maybe I will try to do it on another day. I do love making homemade candy. It could be give as a gift later on.

These sound yummy. But I will not hide them and hunt for them, I'll just settle for eating them.

I like the fact that its so easy to make! so it isn't too time consuming. And I think it would give the kids all new meaning to the term decorating the easter eggs! lol

Peanut butter Easter eggs are almost as important to my Easter as Candy canes are to Christmas! Growing up, my church had a Ladies Aide Society, and they made hundreds of these every year! And they weren't small either! They were big, glazed with chocolate, and had your name written on them with icing! My uncle would always order them for me, my sister, and my grandmother. We loved them. I've only made them myself a couple of times. Maybe this year I'll make them for the grandkids. Thanks for bringing back a pleasant childhood memory!
