What do you do when you have a lousy boss?

Am working in a manufacturing plant and in charge of a small section of quality department. I have an lady immediate superior who oversee the whole of Q department. But you know what, she don even care what is going on with us she dun even communicate/supervise us when there is an issue. what she care s is those items under close monitoring of the director or general manager. Even there are cases where we were scolded by general manager/director. She just kept quite and don't bother about it. As like this is nothing to do with her.
Anybody have this kind of experience lousy boss and what can i do to get rid of this?

I think you're in a bad situation right now.It is because that your immediate superior is not responsible and not a good superior.In the first place, it is not your accountable when there's a mistake in the Q department because it should be her responsibility of how she handles your department.I think the company head is aware of the capabilities of your boss.On your part just do your best and maybe someday that lousy boss of yours will be replace by you.Good Luck my friend.
