Are we overfishing? There are some articles shows that recent studies of biologist that our marine stocks are exhausted due to overfishing. Many parts of the philippine and other southeast asian countries reefs are destroy and empty of marine life due to overfishing and cyanide fishing, many small fisherman use cyanide to catch fish alive. Live fish are in demand in other asian countries which fetch a higher price, that cost the fish population to decline, some fishes takes years to mature and reproduce, with the reef destroyed by the cynide the fisherman have to fish farther away from the shore . How do you see in the future if this continues? What will be the steps to prevent overfishing and keep the demand of the people?

I have no idea, but some time I feel that it may be possible and one day no fishes will be left in oceans.

Yes i think in some countries this is the case. In these Asian countries there are many more poachers and illegal fishing boats, i guess people doing whatever they can to make the money they need, but it is at a cost to the environment. In Australia and New Zealand we have the strictest fishing regulations in the world. (not that EVERYONE follows the rules) but mostly they do. Are fisheries laws are tough and it discourages people to break them. I have known many professional fisherman and there stocks aren't diminishing so i'm not sure where that comes from but you hear it all the time. I think its the inland fish stocks, and i think this is from ameture fisherman taking too many fish, over and over. The fish are still in the deep water and just as many as they have always caught. SO far.
