Consider this situation: you are in a boat with a love one. The boat is sinking and one of you has to sacrifice his/himself so that the other may live. Would you jump off the boat and let your love one live? Answer the question as if it's real. Can you really die for a love one?

If I jump off the boat, it does not mean that I'm going to die. I can swim and in fact even sleep on water. Besides, I'm a child of God and of course, God will not forsake me. I would not let so many blahblahs and I will just tell my companion to go ahead and get help to come back for me. There's no dying here. But if you want to know, I want to die for God and not anybody else.

Depend who the loved one was. I can't see it happening to me being with a partner because I am single and always will be, but hypothetically speaking if it was my child then yes I would die to save his/her life. I can also swim so it would depend how far out in the ocean we were.

If that loved one is my child, I would gamble to jump off the boat and let him/her live considering that I am already old and my child is of course much younger than me. He/she ought to live and I would hope that my child could do something better than me.
