Kids cooking has graduated well beyond the easy-bake oven. Books for budding gourmands are all the rage. Choose ones with low-fat,healthy recipes but don't forget the fun.

Kids do grow up so fast, don't they? Do you have a favorite cookbook that you use with your little ones? My kids have several, but my favorite is called "Pretend Soup and other real recipes" by Mollie Katzen and Ann Henderson. They have pictures of the ingredients and order which the child should put them together. Simple enough for preschoolers to use. :) They also include "real" recipes for the parent to follow, if she doesn't understand the pictures.

That is a book that I'm going to look into getting. My son is 9 and loves to help me cook. He loves cooking himself even more but I'm still a bit nervous about having him working with the oven and such. Thank you for sharing!

Your little one will love it! These authors also have another book. Sorry, I can't remember the title. Something about pretzles. I hope you have a great time sharing your kitchen time with your little one!! :)
