I really think this depends on your preferences and and your cultural/society settings, keeping in that your local folk music is someone's interternational one.
To me, even though I cant deny the influence and the fast growth in the international music,I feel folk music is best for us for reasons that are so widespread and which are of value to our state and the state's economy
