It depends on what topic am I going to discuss with my parents. My mom is pretty talkative so I got stuck listening and speaking to her sometimes for more than an hour when I'm not at work. But its really true that its more comfortable to talk to your close friends or lovers.

In India the situation is not the same.I think the culture makes all the difference. We spend lot of time with parents and talk all the matteres. But due to the influence of new media like internet and mobile phone, students are spending more time on the net and phone. If we talk more with our family memberes, the attachment and relationship will improves a lot.If we are free to talk all our problems with the parents and they find enough time to spare with us,then the realationship will improve and all the problems can be solved easily.Lack of communication creates all the problems.

I speak with my mother all the time. My father I don't speak to as often like I once did. He got remarried and things are different. I mean I still talk to him and he stops by but I see my mom more.

I speak with my parents a lot more than the average individual I feel. When I lived at home with them it was probably close to five hours a day. Now, I usually speak with my Dad thirty minutes everyday. My mother is very busy at work so when I get a hold of her I usually talk for about an hour. Since, they currently live eight hours away it is a lot harder to talk with them like I used to. My parents know everything about me though and are basically my best friends so I think my case is a lot different.

I talk with my parents once a week on the phone cause we didnt live together since I was fifteen.I have to say generation gap does exist but not that large if you do want to commmunicate with your parents. To be frank,I was very rebellious more than ten years ago since I thought they were outdated and I almost didint listen to anything what they had said. But as time goes by,I have experienced a lot by myself. Then I began to realize I could avoid some mistakes if I took their advice.Besides, its quite clear they are the two who love you most in the world. So they must try their best to do your good.Thats enough. Happy posting!

then i am lucky.i speak my parents more than hours.always i am talking with my mom,and whenever my papa came,he also participate in our discussion.most of my friends(not most ..every friend)i know are like me.may be you are taliking about boys.i think that is right.my cousin speak to his father only when he need money or something.but he is very frank with his mom,and they very good friends too.i think this is because of uncle, who is very strict and have some policies.

I have been not staying with my parents for the last 5 and half years. Four years of graduation i spent in college which is miles away. So its only in holidays i visited them. Now its job that keeps me away from them. I talk with them not daily but atleast 30 mins every week. I call the up and speak. I love to live with them. May be after tow years from now, when i'm earning comfortably, i would ask my parents to come by and live with me. About my problems, i generally dont tell anybody about my problems and especially with parents not beacuse i feel uncomfortable but beacuse i dont want them to feel that i'm not completely happy. else they would be feeling bad that their son ahd problems.
