Are you in favor of long term engagement before getting married?

I prefer long term engagements then to getting married before you are 100% sure you know each other really well . Too many people get married quick in the inital period of getting to know one another . When you first meet someone , everyone is on there best behaviour and not showing who they truely are . I feel taking the time to make sure the relationship is going to work is better then rushing into something .
