the ID software classic game has been a real "killer" when it was again immortalized by the most advised 3d engine available. the concept of DOOM's story was incomparable to any DOOM wannabe. weapons and mosters were so well crafted that the feel of the environment was so breath taking, making the gameplay terrifying especially when you wander into the dark depths of hell and caverns. DOOM is a FAntastic game that will never lose its edge. kill!!! kill !!!! kill!!!

I remember I played Doom first version my first time when I was child, I think it was the 1994 and I had an old 486 computer.
Doom 3 is a very very good game, great graphics and great artifical intelligence and so terrifying as you sayd, even if hardware requirements are so heavy.
