Are you comfortable working if your friend is your boss

I guess its not too easy to work under your best friend or even work in the same office or same project.IT might go well initially but problems will soon creep up due to something or the other.So best to avoid such situations.

I didn't have a problem with it and hoped my best friend didn't either..we used to work together and I got promoted..which menat I now tell him what to do..he got mad and quit..I also think that working with a friend and they become a higher positon than you would be an advantage for you..they can halp you..but it depends on the type of friend you have..if they are petty and selfish, you might even have to rethink the friendship..

Yeah . my best friend was a manager at a fast food resturant before it was actully alot of fun to me.

Ya, I'll feel almost comfortable if something like that would happen in the future. Although there will lil bit hesitation since my frend would b at a high position than me....But Altogether, I'll b having no problems....

It depends entirely upon which friend is it. If it is some friend who is very knowledgeable and expert in some skills then I would be very happy in working under him. But if its some friend who is silly and whom I've helped with a numerous things then all the time this thought will stay at the back of my mind that although I have more caliber than him, he has to be my boss!

I will try to avoid working under my friend because it can affect our friendship.Though there is nothing wrong in working under a friend but since the differences between a boss and its subordinate are inevitabele and can effect the friendship.The friend who is the boss will also feel very much uncomfortable because it will be difficult for him to give orders to his friend.Though truely speaking both the friends will try to help eachother.But still as the friends also argue and have differences but when the friends become boss and subordinate , these arguments and differences can become unbearable.It is also impossible not mix the two , friendship and office ranks, so it is always better to avoid such situations.

no. i do no tfeel comfortable working if my friend is becoming my boss. but i did have an oppisite situation. in which my boss became a very good friend of mine and we both knew how to seperate the job from our personal life and that went well. but if my best friend will get a job and will come and tell me that he or sh is my new boss. i will be glad for him or her getting that position but will not feel comfortable being in my position. maybe i will even look for another job.

I think I would be not comfortable about that becuase he is my friend, like I don't want to make mistake in company so, he might be mad at me... I would be feeling different way, either way I think of him in different way. That can destroy friendship... But rarely.
