I've never really been into writing before. I'm more into reading different books and magazines. When I started writing poems for my current partner in life, that's when I realized that I have the passion in writing. I don't know exactly as to how far would I go on writing especially when it comes to poetry, but my family, friends and my boyfriend have definitely inspire me to continue doing so. And because of mylot, the more my creative mind works. I may not be that creative compared to other people but I know I am creative with my ideas in my own little ways. How about you? Did you realize you love writing at an early age or just recently?

I have had a passion for writing for as long as I can remember. I really don't know how it was originally sparked. My mother was deaf and functionally illiterate, so she didn't introduce me to books. My father didn't read to me much, if at all. But I loved to write. When I was in kindergarten, I made a series of "books" for my younger sister called The Adventures of Peppy and Cindy. Peppy was a black cat that followed Cindy everywhere. In second grade, I wrote my first "novel" about a girl who goes off to boarding school. Wishful thinking, maybe. My "novel" was inspired by The Secret Language, and I lifted some of the situations and characters from the book and rewrote myself into it. In 8th grade I wrote another "novel" in a marble composition book. It got passed around school, and every reader wrote comments in the back. It was a thrill to have instant feedback and a fan base so early. I've never lost that passion for writing, and I still read as voraciously as ever.

I started writing at a young age, around 6th or 7th grade in school. I really enjoyed it and still do when I have time to devote to it. I think the biggest reason I got into it was that I love reading novels, and wanted to create my own stories. I have quite a few works in progress but nothing even close to completion. I find when I do get some free time to work on it, it's a great way to express myself. Once in while I read some of the stories I tried to write back in 7th grade, and I have to chuckle at how much I didn't know then and do know now. I've been trying to rework some of those stories, cause I like the basic story lines I came up with back then, but make them more believable.

I discovered I really love to write back when I was a sophmore in high school when I would start writing short plays. None of them were ever any good but it was a beginning. I still want to be a writer very much. Mainly I'd want to focus on poetry, short stories, plays (perhaps) and more non-fictional pieces. My only problem is that, for the last year, I've written almost nothing because of a severe draught in creativity.

Well i realized it when i was writing more memos than month previously. Seriously, like you i am more into reading, maybe write up a footnote here & there but never in a journalistic columnar volume. But ive always wanting to, my uncle used to own a local daily news, i have two cousins working a living in a newspaper. I enjoy intermingling words, understandable enough, maintaining the context but totally disregarding syntaxes of a sentence. Its fun.

seven years ago when someone, an excellent writer himself, told me that I really can write. I believed him.

I was in high school and I composed a poem that rhymed so I showed it to my mother, she was so surprised she asked me if I have written somethig else so I showed her one more of what I had written. SHe said I should make a diary and weite in that, I am good at it. I later submitted one to be published in my school magazine. when it came out everyone was surprised and congratulated me all except one who siad its no surprise because she had read my other peices too, which I used to throw away after writing. She told me I have been writing since fifth grade but I myself never erealised that I could do so till high school. since then I have written many b ut never got them published, I don't know why may be I am not prepared as a writer as yet.

Writing at my Lot is my passion, I keep writing or responding when I am free at work or at home. I think I am addicted much more than passion. I love writing, I write only in the blog and website, I have never made any publication. I have not found the good English books printed and sold in the market in my country.

I've always liked reading and writing. I really don't think I began to delve into writing however until I was about in 6th grade. Things weren't the best at that time and writing gave me this fantasy world to dive into. I wrote a poem and I realized that everyone really liked it, I liked the feeling it gave me, and I liked the ease at which it flowed from me. It felt good. I become more serious about writing my freshman year of highschool. I played around with writing when I was in middle school, but never anything large. It was pretty mild compared to the things I could have gotten into at that time. The stories were rather short, and lacked a lot of major characteristics that would really make the stories work. I didn't pick up writing poetry again until I was a freshman in highschool but I really didn't become too serious about it until my sophmore year. I've been writing pretty heavily ever since. My writing has taken a bit of a hiatus because I have so much in my regular life to do. I've love nothing more than to be able to write poetry and stories all day long but unfortunately, I have other things to do.

I started writing as early as 11 y.o.. but definitely that is not a good one. It is more like a short story. Never get serious. Then during my secondary school i start to write poems.. normally those ideas will come in during my exam weeks.. i get more creative during critical times or stress.. I send some to local publishers but so far none were published. But i won't give up.. no matter what people say.. i believe in myself. I just won't give up...

I had a passion in writing lyrics and poems because I love to express myself. I usually write the best when I was depressed and wrote so many great poems. However, after I met the love of my life, I couldn't write as good as I used to, but I was much happier. I think after I became happy, I didn't have the need to vent as much as I used to. I think it's an interesting thing how it happened like that. I've been with my current girlfriend for over 2 years now and still going strong with plans to marry soon. I wouldn't trade her away for anything in the world, including the passion in writing because nothing is greater than love is. I still write from time to time, but the words weren't as deep and emotional. I also write random blogs about my thoughts on current events or certain psychological issues.

I realized I love writing when I started reading books by Anne Rice. She is a very good author..And her works are good..I write stories sort of similar to hers..It just takes your broad imagination to get it done.

I have no idea of the particular year or date. I know it was when I was in grade school or as the Americans, say, the primary grades. I was a very voracious reader and had a good imagination. Before I went to high school, I had this whole planet populated with these people who were a culture mixture of Greeks and American Indians. I even had cities built for them and drew pictures showing their costumes and the semi tropical climate they lived in. As I went to high school, I wrote mainly for my own enjoyment, which I still do when I write fan fiction. Now my family is grown, and I am writing as a more serious venture, hoping to get published some day.

Hi all, I can't say that I have a passion for writing, but i like the idea to put down in word your thought and experiences. Recently I write some articles for a website, only then I realise that I can write quite well. Then i join mylot, it keeps me in touch of writing. I am enjoying to post responses on my lot. I want to learn some more writing tricks. I would love to read some of your poems, If you're comfortable with this, then please post some poems written by you.

I realized I liked writing when I was young, probably around grade school age. I realized I loved writing in junior high or middle school, depending on where you live. I always wrote in notebooks through high school, but once I started hanging out with a different crowd and quit caring so much about school, my writing just fell away. Every once in a great while I'd jot down some notes or a line here and there, but for the most part, there hasn't really been anything productive coming from my pen for the last ten years. I am now going back to school, and totally rockin' too (thank you very much!), and it didn't take long to realize what I really loved to do. After my first paper that I had to write just poured onto the computer screen without any effort, my heart was back. I am now dealing with realizing way too late that I wanna write for a living combined with the fact that I am just rusty from being so out of practice. I've got article writing down, since that is the easiest thing in the world to do, but the creative juices are just slowly waking up. Hope they do eventually.

I have always known that I could write. An early thirst for knowledge and curiosity about the written word guaranteed that this should be my path in life. But, I kept interrupting my writing for different reasons. I really should have made my mark by now, but I think it is never too late. I have had a few poems published and am now working on a story about my years growing up in Tennessee during the 50s and 60s. I want to do this for my children, grandchildren, and greatgrandchildren. This will be my legacy to them. Keep writing and don't give up.
