a/c doesn't blow through the vents-help!

I was told by my mechanic it would be very expensive to remove the dash and explore the problem. It also smells like something is burning if it is on max a/c. On normal, there is no smell. Does anyone have any idea how difficult this procedure is and what may be the problem in the first place? Thanks,Cassandra

Sounds like the switch is bad or the fan is bad...does the fan blow on a diffrent speed, or just on a/c turn your heat on and see if the fan is blowing on all speeds. If the air is not blowing on one speed could be a switch or connection to the fan. What type of vehical do you have???

If there is a burning smell, you may want to get the dash removed as it may be an electrical problem. Have you had the a/c drain flushed?

make, model, and year of vehicle? Is there any air flow out of vents when on normal or max a/c or heat? With info given, check blower motor usually under passenger side dash or under hood on firewall depending upon year make and model.
