If anyone ever tries to tell me again that Dogs do not cry I will tell them they have not seen mine. Last night my Gissi was in the Bedroom, a car went by that sounds like my Son's. The next thing I heard like a howling sound and I went to see if he was ok, the car went past again and he did it again and when I went closer to him to Hug him I saw tears on either Side of his Nose. I always knew that Dogs are able to cry and I have had the proof of it last night and it broke my Heart. He is fine now and it only happened yesterday but it was so sad. I picked him up and gave him a big Cuddle and he was fine after that. Our Pets have feelings like we do and I hope that all Pet Lovers know this

Gabs, this is a typical flippant remark from a sixteen year old lad who knows nothing about life and the world of animals.
Don't let it upset you... he is only one small agitator in a whole horde of responses which agree with you. I feel sorry for him... he is not worth your anger or your getting upset about.
Hurry back, my dear friend... we're all missing you here! ((((Hugggggggggggs))))

yes they cry. i learnt that swith speedy. every time when i start coughing and have a hard time breathing, he comes close to me and looks at me, tears are rolling down, like he would say "i feel with you and i wish i could help". and the best is, it helps really. then i saw it when he was hitted by 2 rhodesian ridgebacks. awwwww that was a poor lil dog then, because he had so much pain.
i sm glad htat hes fine again. hugs from me for him too

Oh, bless him!
Mickey my puppy when I was a little girl used to cry, big tears when my mum told him off for chewing the lino, the stools, anything out ofthe airing cupboard and the furniture, she gave him away as he destroyed too much stuff.
Newty cries, she whines and whimpers and goes to bed out of the way if voices are raised or she is upset. She sometimes has tears on her nose if I'm upset or if she is waiting for Shrek to get home and he's really late.
People say that yes, their ees water to keep them clan but I think it is more than that, they are part of the family just like our kids and ourselves, lol.

My dog and I have cried together before. The human animals connection is a wonderful thing. I believe they wish they could understand us as much as we wish to understand them. I believe with all my heart that a dog loves deeper than humans are capable of loving.

I agree I have had many dogs and I have seen real tears when they were hurt physically or emotionally. I now have a 15 year old dachshund and she whines a lot because she can. But last summer she and I were outside and bees were everywhere. She was running in the backyard one minute and was sitting down wimpering the next. I ran to her to see what was wrong and she looked up at me with the most pitiful look and tears were on the top of her eyelids. I knew then she was in a lot of pain. Sure enough a bee got her on her haunch and she was hurting real bad. The good thing was I put something on it and put a bandaid on it then she was good to go back to playing outside with the bees. So yes they do cry real tears when in pain.

My dog definitely cries. There was a time after an accident when my dog had to remain at the vets surgery for a few days. After the first day, I got a phone call from the vet to say that my dog was very depressed and he would not be able to operate while he was like this. He said the dog was crying non stop and if at all possible could I go down and stay with the dog to try to cheer him up. As soon as I walked into the surgery, my dog recognised my voice and he gave the first wag of his tail since his accident. I was allowed to stay overnight with him and he had cheered up by next day, so he was able to have his operation.

I agree with you gabs. Our family had a german shepherd before. My mother was the one who raised and fed him. She gave all her love and attention to our dog. Sadly, my mother succumbed to liver cancer. On the day she passed away, our dog was howling and crying for a week. He always went to the place where my mother used to sat down with him. When I went out to console him, I saw tears pouring down her cheeks. Who's to say dogs have no feelings. Who's to say that dogs are just a pet. Our dog had shown a side of her that she also felt the pain of losing my mother. I tell uou gabs, it was a very extraordinary thing to see that animals can have this bonding with us, human beings.

I've seen this happen with our little Maltese dog. When we've been away from the house for anything more than an hour our dog meets us at the door and you need to be here to see it. The other day I had some rather bad news from a scan I had and I sunk in the chair and I cried. I'll bet no more than 3 tear drops hit before the dog was right there by my side sitting up in a begging position and you had to hear that poor little dog cry. I have never seen anything like it in my life. So yes you'd better believe these animals have the same kind of feelings we have and a hug to them is just as important as a hug from one of us to another person. Take Care Doggie Hugs from our house to Yours.

Dogs do cry. My sister and her husband still doesn't have baby after being married for 5 years now so they decided to have a dog. They're taking of him like a little baby. I remember my sister scolding the dog and he ran upstairs and cried like a baby. It was really amazing how some dogs sometimes act like humans. They do have feelings and we should be aware of those feelings so we won't hurt them when they're misbehaving.

My wife and our golden retriever are inseperable. He follows her everywhere around the house and whenever possible whe takes him with her when she goes out. If she is going shopping locally, she takes him with her in the car just for the company. Last week she had to go across the road to our GP so she couldn't take him with her and he lay at the door crying waiting for her to return. I actually saw the tears in his eyes and I even tried to give him treats to cheer him up, but there was just no consoling him. Yes, they certainly cry, just like a baby.

Previously, I hated dogs because I had a terrible experience one time of being almost bitten with a dog when I was a kid. I was simply walking by and the dog near me started to bark. I was so afraid of being bitten that I ran from it only to realize it chased me till I was tired and got nowhere to hide. Thanks to a man who I happen to ran across I was saved by that dog. My brother got a dog a year later and since then I love them because they display emotions just like humans. It never ceases to amaze me everytime they display emotions.

That is good that ypou never judged the Dog by the bad experience you had my Son had his Face and leg ripped open by a Dog when he was little but he still loves Dogs as he knows that was one bad Dog. We had a Dog and it was this dog that helped him stay fearless of Dogs as he sat with my Son and put his head on my Sons Lap as if to say "Don't be scared you know I won't hurt you"

My dog, Sox, that I had when my dad was still alive cried for several days after my dad passed away. She actually had the tears falling down her cheeks. And my dog, Buddy, will cry if he gets spanked....and I swear he can say "ow" at the same time.

First of all, I'm curious to know why your dog got so upset by hearing the car. Did something happen to your son?
Also, I find animals to be very sensitive. My kitty cats are very loyal to me and extremely affectionate. I have one cat named Duchess who is my little alarm clock because she comes Usually, I wake up within about a minute or two but one morning I was so tired that I didn't hear the alarm or feel her kneading me. I finally heard Duchess crying and woke up about five or six minutes after the alarm started going off. I scared her because I hadn't woken up right away. That morning, she wouldn't leave my side. She even waited on the counter outside the shower until I came out and put her paws on my chest when I came out to make sure I was okay. She was so cute! But she was very concerned about her mama.

i know it is true that dogs do cry. more than once i have seen tears on my min pins face. i feel so bad when she does this. i can also tell when she doese cry because she gets this depressing look on her face. so i know for a fact that animals do cry and if some one says other wise then they do not care for thier animals like they would someone in thier family. when you own an animal you have to treat them like they are part of the family and like they are your child.

Animals do have feelings, thats a very known fact among the scientific community. This characteristics is more prevalent among mammals. So it no wonder that dogs are very much capable of displaying this emotions & in its very true form.
How many times that dogs would even come to the aid of its master, irregardless of its own capacity, when they would sense that their master is in trouble.
We used to have a dog that whenever a non-house member would raise a voice to any of the house members would bark gnarling with teeth in obvious display to the one raising the voice & would even come between as if to inform the aggressor (one raising the voice) "you have go thru me first you m__ r f___r"
We did really love that dog, sadly he got worms. Despite efforts of aiding him, we even went to a vet, i hate more what the vet suggested a mercy kill. We stayed on with him till his last.
