Have you tried signing up on a dating site?

OK. I must be one silly rabbit here, but I just would love to know who else here on mylot have tried their luck on some dating sites.. and how was their experiences with it... lol
as for my case, I signed to a couple of dating sites like Mate1.com and Asianeuro.com..:P I was on a sagging emotional dilemma back then after we broke up with my ex-boyfriend, and I felt like getting a new partner would greatly help me up again...*sigh*
But things didn't work out well, and that made me realize that there's no way you can rush things...every little thing has to be on its proper place and time. And I eventually learned to accept and move on with my love life even without a new boyfriend...:P
How about you, have you ever signed up for any dating sites? what are your reasons for signing up? Is it because you were desperate of finding a new partner? or it is mainly because of curiosity and for fun? And how did things turn out?

i do not know one israeli that is still single
that is not registered on a dating site:)
the problem begins when you realize that almost everyone are on two main sites..and everyone knows everyone
plain nightmare, my friend calls it spagetti bolonez
now in israel it dosn't matter if one lives in one place
and the other lives in the other end..somehow you will always know one of his friends or family..again plain nightmare..and before you know it you hear your mother telling her friend that her daughter and the friends son are dating..so i decided to leave those sites along for a while..i think you understand why..:)

yeah, I do understand... but am glad i haven't came along that nightmare even before I decided to stop opening those sites again.. :P

Yes I have tried a few online dating sites in my time, it was a phase I went through, I needed a partner and I don't go out pubbing and clubbing, and so meeting someone through the internet was far more easier than going out to find someone and it was from the comfort of my own home. I joined only the free ones and joined more than one to edge my bets. I did meet about four people from the sites and they were all a waste of time, some of them actually lied about their appearance. I never found my ideal partner and eventually gave up because I realized that I just prefer to stay single and I want to spend the rest of my life happily single.

I am trying also but since i noticed that i dont have any luck in finding the right man for me here online..i already give up...Just stay there for friends..

No I have never tried my luck on a dating site as so far I have had no reason to, but I think that it maybe a good idea for others that are single but I am still married at this time that is why I did not try. But for others they may just find someone that they really like and develop a good relationship.

when i proposed my gf that time i have sang a song for my gf first time and we were on dating that time again i started singing again then she stoped me to sing the we enjoyed our dating still we have con... our relation

Allow me to introduce a success story to the thread. I signed up on a few over a year ago and not long after, I met my current girlfriend She lives in ontario, i live i new hanpshire and we see each other quite often. We have a wonderfull relationship together and look forward to many wonderful years together.

I recently signed up for a few free dating sites within the last month. Unfortunately it sounds like my reasons are close to the same as yours. I just left a bad marriage. After a month of doing pretty much staying home and doing nothing I wanted to do something. And I started to feel a bit lonely. While in my marriage I had lost touch with pretty much all of my friends. So I turned to online dating just seeing whats out there, as well as putting myself out there. My beginning reasons was to meet someone to start a relationship to marriage. And I still want that, but I am starting to realize that I mostly want companionship, whether that is friends or a lover but someone to do something with. But this story won't be over for quite a while. So wish me luck. ;)

I have also joined such dating sites but i finally left.
I joined for fun just to see how it works and i was even curious about to know that can i seriously find my girlfriend online.But i found it doesn't work.

I have tried signing up with a dating site. It wasn't because I was desperate to find someone but that I just wanted someone to talk to. I became a member of a site that I will not mention. Boy was I disappointed! Most of the guys o this site were looking for free "escorts" or something. Not what I was hoping for.

Yes, I met my husband via a dating site. I decided on that option, as I was widowed with a child. There were not many ways for me to meet men.
Lots of professional people join dating sites, as they are too busy to go out looking to meet people.

Me, i'm addict with those dating site. And in fact i had 3 bf's from different sites but they only my past and as a matter of fact, i have my recent foreigner boyfriend right now. And i'm happy though we dont have yet see each other,but he has plans to see me this summer..I'm so excited with that.. Well, my reason is that to have a foreigner boyfriend and i really wanted to marry a foreigner..

I signed up once when I was younger, but it was for kicks and just to see what kind of responses I would get. Me and some friends laughed ourselves silly over it.
I find it hard to take dating sites seriously because anyone can say they're anybody on the net. I'm just not trusting that the person behind the sn on a dating site is really what they claim to be.
