Can you be best friends with someone whom u've never met?

i can't think of any reason why you can't. in fact, i have best friends all over the world, and when i say best, they are the best. people you can trust 110%, even with your money. i met these guys in a particular forum where we had a lot in common. and we keep track of each other, even when we're offline. c",)

Yes, it is possible. In my opinion, it's not necessarily important to see each other in order for you to consider him/her your best friend. What's important is that he/she is there for you when you need someone. He/she may not be physically present but you know deep inside that he/she is there and that they care. I have best friends online. People I've never seen in person and yet our bond is far greater than those people who often see each other. It's just how you perceive your friendship to be.

Hmm .. this is tough .. but yes i have a couple of online friends but they are not my best friends .. for some reason i find it difficult to trust people online in fear of them being a total lie .. i would never be able to discuss my most personal issues with someone whom i have never met. IF i have met someone atleast once and that person goes somewhere far to stay it might be possible to br good ffriends to him/ her but not possible with a complete stranger ..

yes i can , rather i have . My best friend now lives in china and the only communication we have is via Orkut and chat. Its just you have to have a feeling of responsibilty towards the relation, thats all required.

i would have to say yes on that one. one of my best friends lives over 3000 miles away and i have never met him, but he knows my ambitions, beliefs, life situation, favoite music, who my friends are, and i know all that and more about him. we talk all the time, and i intend on meeting him for the first time this summer, after 3 years of friendship.
