Kissing is one of the most passionate ways of expressing love for your partner. It is never wrong to show how much you love and how much ou care for your special someone but the reality that not everyone is liberated and open minded. There are still communities all over the world, even in the most advanced cities, who have a degree of conservativeness. Personally I see nothing wrong with kissing in public but keeping it low would be a good idea so as to show respect for other people. You can never predict how people view things, so the best thing to do is be cautious. There are better places where those kind of acts can be done....egs. the privacy if your own home or in the car. These actions are more meaningful when done in the absence of an audience. However, a smack on the cheek or generally something that isn't hardcore would be totally acceptable..in my opinion. Just be aware of the people around you before doing it.

Are we not just enforcing prejudice by refraining from kissing in public though?

Depends on where I am When I am in London or Manchester or a big city, I never notice but if I go home, its different. I am from a small country town and would be really careful bout kissing a boy there

I don't have a problem with it as long as you're not crawling all over each other. I think that's rude whether the couple is gay or straight. But all in all I think a kiss is just sweet. For safty's sake, though, you really should think about reaction. Gay people have been beaten up or killed for just existing.

I know that gay people have suffered abuse for just existing but unless we are open and expressive about our feelings, are we not just pretending we don't exist and letting prejudice continue in the world

I like seeing people being affectionate in public, as long as it's not one of those kisses where it looks like their trying to eat each others faces. if I see two men kissing I tend to think it's sweet. and a bit hot ;)

I have a couple of close male friends who are gay, so I don't think it would really freak me out if I saw it. The only thing that would make me feel weird is if two people were just totally making out in public, but that would just gross me out whether the people were gay or straight! lol

I tried to look at your avatar closely and saw that you're a man. And now I got it. WEll, I honestly do not have anything against gay people. I have seen gay men and women kissing with their boyfriends and girlfriends in public. Well, of course, I would be shock. It's just a natural reaction.. But again, i have nothing to day against gays. You are still among those who ought to be respected like any other people do. :)
