Cremation is far better than burials even though it is mainly depend om the religion. I think most of the Christan and Muslims bodies are buried, but normally bodies of hindus in india are cremated. according to my experience the time taken for the degradation of the human body under the earth is very much. During the rainy time the nearby water bodies (well, pool) etc. used get contaminated because of buried bodies. But with cremation every thing get vaporise and there exists some ashes and every thing finishes in maximum two hours. ( these ashes can be thrown in rivers or see or you can fertilizer for crops.

Cremation is the obvious choice for me,the main reason being that there is'nt enough space for burial unless you go back to the Victorian era & bury '4or5 bodies' in every plot! But i'm sure common sense will prevail in the end!

Burial for me. for a start, cremation isn't very environmentally friendly. and I beleive very strongly in my body returning to the Earth and having a sort of physical reincarnation, as those parts of me go on to become new life.
