We wan to take our kids to Disney world, but the cost is just extreme for us. Does anyone know of any place you can find a deal. Is it truly worth the expense anyway.

I would say definitely go. There's no experience like what you can take away from Walt Disney World with your family. To experience the magic of Disney through your own child's eyes is an amazing experience that can't be matched.
The cost really isn't as bad as what people think it is. If you're fairly flexible in your planning, you can plan to go during the value season. That alone will save you so much money. We have taken our kids there 3 times now and will continue to do so. It isn't cheap, but it's not expensive either. There are SO many money saving things that you can do.
There are also so many activities within Disney World that you can do for free or very inexpensive. The campground (Fort Wilderness) has campfire movies at night where there's a campfire to roast marshmallows with Chip & Dale that's free. You just have to either bring your own or buy the supplies there. I believe it's only around $5.00 if you purchase them there. Go resort "hopping." What I mean by that is go check out the resorts. That in itself is an adventure that is just beautiful! Go to Downtown Disney and walk around letting the kids play in the different areas and rides. Let your imagination run wild and you'll see the child come out in yourself. These are just a couple possibilities that there are.
There are discount codes so often as well that you can apply to your reservations too. I would suggest to stay on-site for sure to experience the Disney magic 24 hours per day. It's such a break from the "real world" to escape into a world of dreams.
A couple sites that I can say have helped me save some great amounts of money with the information are:
www.mousesavers.com
www.magictripscommunity.com/forum/
www.wdwinfo.com
Don't forget these sites for the loads of information there is:
www.disneyworld.com
www.allearsnet.com
Hope that helps! I can't wait to hear what you've decided!
