Yes, there are such characters everywhere who flatter you when with you and stab you behind your back.As long as the stab doesn't touch me,I wouldn't worry about it.I won't think highly of that person and ignore him.But if it hurts me ,then I will face him and try to learn the root of such a backlash and ask him to come to me whenever he has grudges against me.If he still continues doing it and it affects me ,then I will put him in his place. A best friend doing it would be a very sad experience.It hurts most when it comes from a dear one.That would mean I haven't chosen my best friend carefully.I will first try to straighten it and if it continues I won't take it lightly.In such a case ,he won't remain my best friend for sure.It's easier to deal with such situations when you don't consider such a person a friend as you are free to retaliate.

I agree with you, there are so many people who talk behind the backs of others but yet they are nice to their faces. When I hear that someone was saying mean things about me, if that person is a friend, I confront that person. If the person is someone that doesn't know me on a personal level I also like to confront them but sometimes I just let it go and laugh at the fact that it is sad that some people have such boring lives that they have to talk about others and try to cause drama which is nonsense.
