Effexor? Did it work for you?

How many people here are taking effexor? Do you find it worked? If not can you tell me what did help? Can you tell me how your life changed when you we're on it / or started to come off it???

I wasted 8 months on Effexor and was miserable most of the time. A total zombie at 300mgs. I'm so glad to hear that it has worked for others! My best experience was with Zoloft, until it stopped working for me (hormonal changes related to age :-(). I'm on Cymbalta now, but need to take added medication for anxiety. Withdrawal from Effexor (even when gradually reduced) is really a drag & it took over a month to get back to functioning anywhere near my norm.

What do you currently take for your anxiety? I'm currently taking clonazepam, but I don't think its working? I think it makes me more anxious or too tired to care about the rest of the day... lol.

I tried it, and it made me too anxious and jittery. I take Cymbalta, and that works well for me.
