would you give your sibling a second chance at life?

i just read a story online about a father suffering from leukaemia whose sister is refusing to donate her bone marrow, despite being a perfect match. i'm sure that there is more to the story, but my question is, as a sibling, would you help? i know i would, despite the fact that i hardly ever get along with my brother, especially since the procedure is relatively simple for the donor.
has anyone been a donor, or received a donation? what were your experiences?

I'll have no second thoughts on doing that, I love my family, from my parents, my sisters, to my nieces, I'll give my life for them if they need me to.
I don't get along much with my older sister. She's done a lot of things that I really don't approve, but inspite of all the things she did, it won't change the fact that we came from the same womb and thus, we share the same blood.
There was a time when my sister got hurt while playing basketball, I couldn't believe my reaction when the news reached me. I was at the other side of the campus playing volleyball at that time. I ran like hell without stopping until I found myself kneeling in front of the stretcher that carried her. I cried and held her hand and with aching heart, I beg her to gain back her consciousness and talk to me. At that moment, my sister looks so fragile and I can't help but think I'm willing to trade places with her, I just don't want to see her get hurt...
Oh well, so much drama from me {*blush}... I guess you got my point, I'll do anything for my family.

i agree!
i am so amazed that there are people out there who would refuse to do it. i'd even help a stranger if i was a match!

No matter what any of my siblings have done to me If they nned my help I would give it to them without a second thought.I couldn't imagine how guilty I would feel if I didn't.
I have never been a donor but I have heard that is more painful and riskier for the donor then the person recieving the donation.
