What is the right time for a MOM to RESUME WORK after her child's delivery?

When should a mother resume work at office after delivering her child? I believe if money is not a very important thing for the moment a mother can nurse her child for atleast a year .. since the child becomes independent of his/her mother by the time he is one year old .. while if money is a very important need then maybe atleast she can wait till her child is 2 or 3 months old .. WHat say ?

I waited until they were 6 months old as that is how old they have to be to be accepted into a daycare here
