Help me please! My cat has decided to poopie on the floor and not in her litter box. Not all the time, but it seems to be a tempermental thing. We have tried scolding her, taking her directly to her litter box. We've tried different sprays and deterents...nothing seems to be working. Has anyone else gone through this?

try changing the kitty litter. cats dont like pooping in dirty kitty litter. the pee is marking their territory. dont hit or scold the cat. another way to have the cat not litter on that same spot is to place her food bowl in the area. cats dont eat where they poop so this should work.

Her litter box is clean. We have the scoopable kind and we scoop it every day and change it every week. We might try to move her food dish though. Thanks for the idea.

I have, and still am with my Waffles cat. She prefers to poo on my sunporch floor than use the litterbox, which is located conveniently nearby. I think she just wants to avoid stepping on peed-up newspapers in the litterbox. Another reason is that she doesn't like Columbus, my other cat. She's perfectly healthy, eats, plays and sleeps well. I don't understand why she feels that she must soil the floor. Even the Chlorox that I throw on the poo stain doesn't stop her --- she'll just do it close by.
Yelling or hitting a cat for any reason is futile and cruel, so I've never done that to her. Okay, I swore at her, but that was about it.
To be honest, I've been looking for an answer myself, although I will definitely ask my vet when I take the cat for a checkup in the near future.

let her stay outside and wait till she make poop. After that make her smell her poop on that place and she'll poop on that spot always.. try it
