I do since English is not my native laguange and I want to expand my English vocabulary so I always use discitonary just to check if I really understand the word and the contextual close from a the whole paragraph. http://wordweb.info/free/ That is the link where i get my dictionary. You can download it for free and use it even offline. The good thing about this software is that you can also search online it has panels for wikipedia, wiktinary and wordweb online. But if your working offline you can jsut use the worbweb.

I just kind of started using it with my daughter when she needs help with some of her homework. I have the regular dictionary sitting on my desk here next to the computer and I think that it's just old habit that I find myself using that instead of the online one alot of times.

Actually I still have that habit of readint the old style dictionary books and i think nothing will replace them. What i like about online dictionary is that I can find the words faster.

the mozilla browser has its own add-on dictionary. i always use this whenever i am online. many a times that you would encounter words in your reading and writing that you really don't understand, so i immediately check the spelling and have it defined by the add-on dictionary in mozilla. it works also like a thesaurus.

...sometimes.. but usually I just reach for my old softcover Merriam-Webster that's sitting on my desk.. Old habits die hard I guess.. One thing I've noticed, I used to be able to spell everything.. but then I had to dig the dictionary out from the bottom of the pile where it's stayed in a prestigious spot ever since.. Whatz up with that?

That's avery good idea, as how can we be sure what we are saying, if we don't use the right words? English, however is my only language. I use spellcheck now, because I can't always remember for sure how things are spelled, though I used to be able to spell just about everything.. getting older..

Thank you for the link I will check it out, although I do tend to prefer to use hardback copies of dictionaries and thesaurus, I am a good speller, well English being my first language, although I do have problems with punctuation at times.
