The Beatles.... Ringo Starr...... The Funny One....

To many people, the Beatles revolve in the names John Lennon and Paul McCartney, the two people who dominated the song writing in the band and George Harrison, the quiet one who write songs alone and fought his way to make more cuts to the albums they make. The band who started the revolution, who wrote the sound track of our lives.
One day, I was in a dental clinic, while waiting for my turn, I read american tabloids lying in a basket and an article caught my attention. It was the time when George Harrison died. An article about Ringo Starr. It says that Ringo's contribution to the Beatles are so little and maybe when he dies, the people would remember him as a member of the Beatles and nobody will give a damn. You see, when John Lennon died, people gathered outside the Dakota apartment, singing songs, crying and praying, screaming and angered by his death.... that's how John Lennon meant to his fans and the same goes for George. There two remaining Beatles, Sir Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr and the same might go when Paul dies. Ringo is an essential part of the Beatles history. There came a time when people noticed Ringo for his funny acts that seemed natural to sad eyed boy, even her majesty the queen asked him "Are you the leader of the band?" and Ringo said "No, I was the last to join...".
Beatles will never be Beatles without Ringo Starr. Fans, spread the word.... Ringo will forever be in our hearts and he is as special as his John, Paul and George...
Thanks

they say life is unfair, probably even for the beatles especially for richard starkey. but i believe that shouldn't be the case. why?
ringo may not be much of a songwriter compared to lennon and mccartney, but he also shared his works during the beatles' heyday. ringo will always be remembered as the wacky beatle, and it is disappointing to find out that people and beatles fans could forget him in a snap of a finger when he passes away.
it may be a fact that he was a bit relegated in the backgound (probably because of his instrument), but the point is, without ringo, beatles would not be beatles... it's just like simple math: 1+1+1+1=4, take away the other "1" and you'll end up with 3 (not 4). same thing goes here. john+paul+george+ringo= the beatles.

Yep, I totally agree with you! Ringo was a very nice and creative guy. He is one of the most underrated musicians ever in my opinion. So sad. There are quite a lot of good drummers around the world, but only one of them knew how to be also a good beatle.

For me, Ringo Starr will always be Ringo Starr as the saying goes once a Beatle will always be a Beatle. As a musician he is creative, innovative and full of soul. Yeah, he made simple drum tracks for the legendary group but as a musician I know how hard for a person to do routinary sound. It is much easier to do a free flow style than make support sound for the band. Just a trivia, Ringo is the first one to be recorded in every Beatle track. He is the basis of timing and consistency for the music to hold together. He is a human metronome!
