Many years ago, I read in a chemistry magazine that hair conditioner contains silicone. It explained why Head and Shoulders was making my hair smooth, shiny and tangle free. Silicone has many uses. One of them is as an additive in personal care products. Have you wonder what is in hair conditioner that makes your hair easily manageable? http://www.cibasc.com/index/ind-index/ind-per_car/ind-pc-silicones.htm http://sehsc.com/whatissilicone.asp?

I used a small bottle of silicone for my hair. It made it very manageable, sleek and shiny. The outlay was quite expensive but it lasted forever. I am not sure if it is still available but if it is I reccomend the Redken make. I don't know much about what the product contains, but do know that conditioner makes the hair cuticle shaft lie smooth hence the smooth look.

Thanks. This is interesting. I'll check it out if Redken is available here when I next go to the mall. http://www.redken.com/products/

I'm glad I came across that one chemistry magazine. Somebody threw away a pile of magazines by the letter boxes and I took them home. I still have some of the magazines. Thanks for the reponse, gabs. Hugs to you. Now to correct that link. I wonder how the two ?? got in? I always checked thrice that the links are correctly typed out. http://www.sehsc.com/whatissilicone.asp
