So the easter bunny is on his way. I remember last year how much money i spent on the kids for easter. It was crazy. they each got brand new bikes, helmets, knee and elbow pads, toys clothes and all kinds of goodies. This was between there fathers family and mine. So this year i've decided that they will get 2 small toys each and a small basket of treats. But it seems im not the only one that goes crazy at easter, its like a new trend or something. I've asked family not to get the boys much because I dont want them to expect this every year as it will become more expensive every time. So how do you spend easter. Is it like christmas at your house to?

I've never had Easter celebrated this way. As the kids were growing up they got a small basket with candy and a few simple toys, just as my Mom did for my sisters and I as we were growing up. We do egg hunts but the main thing is to go to church and to spend time with family. I go to church every week but there are alot of my family that Easter is the only time they go. I've actually cut back on even how much I spend at Christmas I think the "holiday" has become so commercial that kids are wanting more and more and it's just rediculous - my 4 year old grandson wanted a $400 video game last year :(

i agree, the holidays are about family and time together. I wish i was able to go to church more often, maybe when i have my own vehicle. My favorite part of christmas is the family and visiting(and eating good food) but yes i agree. thanks
