At what age do you stop picking out your children's clothes?

I have children ranging from almost 19 all the way done to 2. I try to let my children pick out their own clothes starting when they learn to dress themselves. I have set guildlines when we go shopping, shirts have to cover bellybuttons, pants ahve to stay up and not fall down to their knees ect... but they can buy styles they like. How about you?

My children ages 5,6, and 8 go shopping together. I will tell them what I like and dislike about a piece of clothing then we decide together if it would be a good choice. I don't want to decide for them what the will wear but I do want to help them decide what lloks correct on them.

When we go shopping my kids pick out most of their clothes. My daughter hates shopping so sometimes I buy stuff without her there just to make thing easier. Most days my kids choose what they want to wear unless we are going somewhere special and then I will help them decide. I try to buy their clothes so that almost everyting can be mixed and matched to make it easier for them.

I have a 4 year old son. Most the time he prefers to pick out his own clothes and is normaly dressed and ready for the bus at about 5am lol... his bus doesn't come until about 7:15 and i wake up at about 6am. The only time I will help him pick out his clothes is when he picked something that is too warm or too cold for the weather or if it just looks crazy. But I still ask his opinion of what I've picked out for him. The only clothes I pick out on a daily basis are jammies while hes in the bath. Because I don't want him walking around naked while looking for clothes lol... That and because I know how cold its gonna get and can pick out the right jammies for the weather. Now my 7 year old brother on the other hand. Not only does my mother still pick out his clothes for him but she also still dresses him. I think allowing my son to choose his own clothes gives him a sence of independance and comfidence.

I am very open to letting my kids pick out their own clothes. Their ages range from 18-6. My stipulation is that they have to be stain free if we are leaving the house. It cuts down on many arguements to let them choose what they want to wear.

When my sons became teen agers I started to let them pick out their own clothes, I mean shopping for them.
