Have you ever used ! option in the Rating options?

Hello tonyaxxx..... There are several reasons to report and rate things negatively. If you never report or rate things negatively....you are NOT following mylots guidelines. In the do's and don'ts list mylot explains that they NEED and REQUEST our help locating the garbage that needs to be removed. Do your part to improve this forum and the time we spend here. Tom

I have to say I have used it a few times. I sometimes use it when someone has blantantly and cynically taken part in a discussion purely to earn money. For example (I'm making this up) "I am from Germany. If you have been there what did you think of it? What did you like most?" and then people reply with answers like "Germany! I have never been and wouldn't want to go there!" Then why take part when you have nothing to add. Or when the question is "Do you prefer the theatre or the cinema?" and someone says "Yes" or "Cinema". I wish people would read the question properly and answer accordingly - or not all if the topic does not interest or apply to them.

I have used those three options. But usually I use the "+" option most of the time. I give a "+" to all discussion where I respond. Also I rate "+" all responses I get to my discussions, unless it is not abusive or off topic. I have used the "!" option few times. I can remember once I used it to report a member who was posting same response to every discussion he was responding, and that response also without any meaning. I reported him and posted a discussion also on him so that people can get aware of him. Mylot deleted all his responses and discussions after I posted the discussion about his story. Mylot is good in taking action for cheater.

i usually rate if a discussion or response is some informative also i rate my responses to discussion as they got atleast 2 lines and some sort of description.i rate them as + and other leave no rating and i will add a comment like"please be decriptive as possible,thank you". when i saw a good photo i will check that and rate them.usually i check the photo atatched to discussion as well as i search some photos within my interest and if a photo seems to catchy (for me)i wil rate a +.i dont rate -!

Well, I haven't encountered any discussion worthy of that so far. I have this rule in rating topics..., if i liked the answer, I would definitely hit the + option, if I don't like it, I'd rather not rate it than give a -

No I have never used the option of "!" for rating anyone. I guess I would use it when someone needs to be reported for abuse, such as, being unusually cruel to others. When people are swearing and when it is obvious that they are here to start trouble ...that is when I would use it. Some have made postings of how people put their discussions on here repeatedly over and over and over again. I guess that would constitute as abuse to (spam). So I guess I would use it in a situation like that too. I have also never used the negetive option. I feel like if someone has taken the time to read my post and respond with a thoughtful response then they should not get a negative response. I think the only ones who should be getting negative responses are those who are mean, rude, and vulgar. Well that's just my thoughts on the rating system. Thanks for the discussion post.
