A spammer is the one who sends an unsolicited mail or material to another person. Some people on this site confuse a spammer with a plagiarist. Plagiarism is the act of publishing other people's works without permission. The lack of permission is the only common factor to spamming and plagiarism. With respect to spamming, it is easiest and most appropriate to establish a case of spamming when the recipient and the sender don't know each other, and have not established any form of contact or correspondence before, whether directly or indirectly through another person. As for plagiarism, a well known person may yet be guilty of the offence for lack of prior permission. Within the context of myLot, a person may be guilty of spamming if he/she, for instance, posts business adverts when such is not specifically or indirectly requested by any member. We have cases like this on this forum, but some culprits are very smart about it while others are simply reckless.

Hmm... when they go as far as be-friending you and posting testimonials with links & referrals. Sometimes sending messages and posting their referral addresses that are completely unrelated to the topic.

I red some are posting current events here in mylot coppied from news so, they spam because the article doesn't belongs to them. ?
Or they spam unintentionaly, because the reason they posted that discussion just to elaborate more and want to hear peoples different point of views.
