I have travelled extensively throughout Europe and the USA over the last 20 years and when asked where I am from, I always say I am Welsh.
Judging by the many puzzled looks I get, I am aware that a considerable about of Europeans and Americans have no real idea where Wales actually is.
So, without looking at a map, Do you know where Wales is?

Yes, I agree with you. I am from England and sometimes the only place people have heard of in out of the way places is London. I went to university in Bangor, North Wales. I loved living there and think it is sad not many people know where it is.

It's in the middle / western part of the UK. I think all people from Europe ought to know that. It dosen't surprise me that Americans don't know, most of them think Denmark is a place in Sweeden :-D

Of course!
Wales is located on the British Island, in the south - south-western part. The capital is Cardiff, where the Millennium Stadium is at.
One of the best Welsh football players ever, Ryan Giggs, plays for my favorite English team, Man Utd.
Yet, it is not the football team that is the best of your country, but the rugby team, isn't it so?
Wales is also famous for it's coal mines, that helped the industrial revolution take place in England, and for giving the world the man with the golden voice: Tom Jones!
