We are told to accept that Jesus existed based upon the Gospels of the bible, yet the Gospels are so poorly written that a logical person is at best left to wonder if Jesus even exists. the Gospels are consistently contradictive, filled with mthematic errors and don't compliment each other on vey important details. This discussion with its parts will serve as an example for just how unreliable the gospels are.
1) How many generations were between Abraham to David ?? Matthew 1:17 lists fourteen generations. Matthew 1:2 lists thirteen generations !!!!!!
2) Is Paul lying? in Acts 20:35 Paul told people "to remeber the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, (It is more blessed to give than to receive)" . Since Jesus never made such a biblical statement, isn't Paul is guilty of deception ???
3) When did the leper become not a leper? 9Mathew 8:13 & 8:14) Jesus healed the leper before visiting the house. (Mark 1:29-30 & 1:40-42) Jesus healed the leper after visiting Simon Peter's house.
4) Who approached Jesus? 9Mathew 8:5-7) The Centurion approached Jesus, beseeching a help for a sick servant. 9Luke 7:3 & 7:6-7) The centurion didn't approach Jesus. He sent friends and elders of the Jews.
to be continued
so which Gospel should I believe ?? Doesn't all these make the Gospels fake ??

I thought I would address your questions best. I am starting with the one I began to research for you #2 Paul ISNT lying. Not everything Jesus said is in the bible. Check this verse:
"And there are also many other things which Jesus did, the which, if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written. Amen."--John 21:25 So NO I am sure he isnt lying! The gospels were written by 4 guys and such. But doesnt mean they put it all in.
Your first question. Well its was a mistake of Matthew to obmit a name from one list and not another. We are human, we all make mistakes. I found a lot of great info on this site:
http://www.tempemasjid.com/maurice/11modern.htm
3. Um Matthew 8:13-14 has nothing to do w/ a Leper. It reads:
"And Jesus said unto the centurion, Go thy way; and as thou hast believed, [so] be it done unto thee. And his servant was healed in the selfsame hour.
And when Jesus was come into Peter's house, he saw his wife's mother laid, and sick of a fever" http://www.blueletterbible.org/kjv/Mat/Mat008.html#13
Mark 1:29-30 also NO Leper mentioned check it out:
"And forthwith, when they were come out of the synagogue, they entered into the house of Simon and Andrew, with James and John.
But Simon's wife's mother lay sick of a fever, and anon they tell him of her."
The FIRST time Leper is mentioned in all your little verses IS Mark 1:40-42:
"And there came a leper to him, beseeching him, and kneeling down to him, and saying unto him, If thou wilt, thou canst make me clean.
And Jesus, moved with compassion, put forth [his] hand, and touched him, and saith unto him, I will; be thou clean.
And as soon as he had spoken, immediately the leprosy departed from him, and he was cleansed."

4. Actually the same guy asked both times. In the one passage (all quotes below) he came and the second he sent servents but then it states HE said the same thing almost! Its the same guy just the servents were not included in both. You gotta read it all firsts!:
Mat 8:5 And when Jesus was entered into Capernaum, there came unto him a centurion, beseeching him,
Mat 8:6 And saying, Lord, my servant lieth at home sick of the palsy, grievously tormented.
Mat 8:7 And Jesus saith unto him, I will come and heal him.
Mat 8:8 The centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed.
Mat 8:9 For I am a man under authority, having soldiers under me: and I say to this [man], Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth [it].
Mat 8:10 When Jesus heard [it], he marvelled, and said to them that followed, Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.

Heres the one from Luke:
Luke 7:1 Now when he had ended all his sayings in the audience of the people, he entered into Capernaum.
Luk 7:2 And a certain centurion's servant, who was dear unto him, was sick, and ready to die.
Luk 7:3 And when he heard of Jesus, he sent unto him the elders of the Jews, beseeching him that he would come and heal his servant.
Luk 7:4 And when they came to Jesus, they besought him instantly, saying, That he was worthy for whom he should do this:
Luk 7:5 For he loveth our nation, and he hath built us a synagogue.
Luk 7:6 Then Jesus went with them. And when he was now not far from the house, the centurion sent friends to him, saying unto him, Lord, trouble not thyself: for I am not worthy that thou shouldest enter under my roof:
Luk 7:7 Wherefore neither thought I myself worthy to come unto thee: but say in a word, and my servant shall be healed.
Luk 7:8 For I also am a man set under authority, having under me soldiers, and I say unto one, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth [it].
Luk 7:9 When Jesus heard these things, he marvelled at him, and turned him about, and said unto the people that followed him, I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.

Yoi didn't get me yet. All this propaganda I had made is to be sure that bible was written by humans that can be mistaken . I am sure it was not an intended mistake . but still a mistake . and the word of God has no tiny mistake . so as a common result is to doubt all other facts that they are mentioned . I will give you an example for another religious book which is Quraan . you can see in the end of the book the series of writters that copied it from Prophet Mohammad Peace be upon him , who had copied this from the holy spirit . You got me here ? from where did Matthew , Luke , mark , John got these words ???? don't tell me from Jesus as the period between them and Jesus wasn't less than 150 years . but if you searched for Quraan oldest copy which is in turkey its age is of that of islam. and what we have between our hands is a copy of it .
and without looking cosiderably to what I said , I'd like to stress on that the word of God contain not any tiny contradiction.

i would have to say that the contradictions do not make the statements false but misleading due to the fact that you read in many parts of the bible that one thing happened and in other parts of it you read a similar description but with different information the perception is all wrong that is the problem with information written by religious zealots they wish to hide things from the people. Another thing to put out there is that the bible was translated by a man who was initially a pagan but that is a different story all together. i have also posted something on the contradictions i had found if you would like to read that

Sweetie, Jesus was a real person. Even the staunchest athiests recognize this. The question is whether he is the Son of God. That's up to you to either believe or not believe.
We know based on many historical documents that Jesus did exist. One book you should consider reading is called the Case for Christ, written by Lee Strobel. He might help you sort through some of this.
Take care!

Presenting such errors do not falsify the integrity of the Gospel. Saint Paul’s writings according to 1 Cor 14:37 are all commandments of the Lord. Paul had a different meeting with the Lord Jesus according to Acts Chapter 9. Maybe you need more research. Try www.truthcaster.com it may answer your questions.

Honestly, there are preachers here in the Philippines who knows the Bible verse by verse who could probably answer your question. But personally, the gospels are written by humans and humans are prone to error. I think these are just minor inconsistencies. The main theme of the bible is LOVE. If you focus on the details, word by word for inconsistencies, then you probably wouldn't get the real meaning of the Bible.

The bible has been written in the time of Jesus and has been passed down to us generation after generation. No two people will give the exact same answer after viewing or witnessing the same incident. Perception changes what we see or what we think we see. The disciples were people just like you and me. Jesus was a person like you and me. The bible was written in many languages and has been translated in soo many more. Do not question the wisdom and greatness of God by picking on minor things. Concentrate on the parts that says do not judge others and you will not be judged.
