I have just finished reading Dan Brown's novel: Deception point. Dan brown has written four books so far and I read them all. I was not very enthusiastic to buy this book when I first read a summary of the story on the book's cover. A story about a meteorite that has been discovered in the north pole, not very appealing at first sight. The book stayed on a shelf for about 2 months after buying it. Last week, I had enough courage to start reading it, and since then I could not let go. This implied many late nights reading and fighting against sleep, just another chapter before going to bed. The story turned out to be very interesting and Dan Brown made sure to end every chapter with a sentence that motivated me to just keep reading. I skipped a few pages dealing with geology as I found them boring. Also, the solution of the mystery became obvious to me about 100 pages before the end of the book. A change from Agatha Christie and Harlan Coben books where I keep guessing until almost the last page of the book. In all, a pleasant book which followed exactly the same template as the other 3 novels.

Oh, I've got a buddy in here. I also like Dan Brown's "Angels and Demons; and The Da Vinci Code" this book is what I can say is his best creation. I have also heard about his new book. But then, its not yet in the bookstores, I forgot the title. Anyway, I tell you if its available and tell me if you know the title.

I think that angels and demons is his best book. That was the first book of Dan Brown that I read too. The new novel is called The Solomon Key and will be released in 2007. It sounds like another religious thriller.

I like this book and the other 3 books of Dan Brown. This book is a refreshing one from the common stories. Am so fond of Dan Brown's knowledge from archeology down to geology. Deception Point is a great and wonderful book to read.

It is because he does a lot of research and contacts many experts before writing his books. By the way, many other novelists do also some research before writing their new novels.

I haven't yet got around to reading any of Dan Brown's books (maybe I'm the only one alive who hasn't read ANY of his work) - I guess I should change that soon. I tend to get most of my books from Amazon as I regularly get vouchers from a site where I write reviews. I get about £15 a month in vouchers so this keeps me in books and DVDs quite happily :)

I'm currently on chapter 3 of this book. I have already read the Da Vinci Code and Angels and Demons. Both wre really well written and plots were well organized. Since you said that you couldn't let the book go, then I'll go with your word and finish the book ahead of time. :)

Deception point is well written too. Though, I cannot voucher for the technical information in the book as geology is not my field. Enjoy your reading.

i think deception point is just ok compared to Da Vinci Code, with the Da Vinci Code he successfully combined truth and fiction, that made it sensational, just my opinion

I think that Deception point is also based on some facts related to politics, NASA funding and others.

Yes it was not interesting frm the start but as the story built up.I am an admirer ofDan brown's writing style. He researches so much data about the topic of the book before he starts writing. His books are packed with information scientific technical historical archaeological and whatever. Digital fortress,Angels & Demons ,Deception point & the da vinci code are filled withknida info u wont come across.

I guess that is why he did not finish writing his new book yet. He must be very busy doing research on the book's topic.

I live Dan Brown books, I very much enjoy the archaeological, church history and such...I may or may not agree with the conclusions Mr. Brown puts forth, but then I read it as fiction. I don't really believe in Hobbits either but I certainly enjoyed the Lord Of the Rings. I have noticed in a lot of fiction that is serial the books have a definate pattern... Its the details that make or break it for me.

The book is great, not as good as the Da Vinci Code of course but the story was really interesting and one of the best I have ever read. I must admit at first I thought I won't like it but it turned out that the book was amazing. And yes the geology part was a little bit boring because Dan had described it with such specifications that even a real geologist might get lost there, but overall everything else was great.
