How often do you grocery shop?

My parents just went grocery shopping and I don't mean any small shopping either. There are currently six adults in this house. Four of which are full grown males that work constantly. They have four refrigerators which they fill once a month with food. That is it. That is all they shop besides an occasional I need bread, milk, or eggs fill-up. When I lived alone I shopped every week I think. I bought different stock items each week plus stuff that was specific to the menu choices for the coming week. What I was wondering is, is it common for people to shop in one giant grocery shop? Or weekly in little shops like myself?

I usually go twice a month. And then a few times in between for things like milk and yogurt. We tend to go through around 12 gallons of milk or so a month. So there is no way I would have enough room in the fridge to not go in between for those.
I try to do menu planning for two weeks at a time, though. Then I make my shopping list and go get all the stuff at once. It's much easier that way. Occassionally I will forget something, or my son will be in one of his moods where he will only eat a certain thing, so I have to get more of it when I go for milk. But for the most part, I can get just about everything in a twice monthly trip.

I shop once per month. I am a homeschooling mom, live out in the boonies and don't have too much time to get out, so I make my trips count! In fact, I did it today. One lady told me "boy you must like to eat". I told her no, my 7 kids do! I had two heaping carts full and people look at me like I am crazy, pulling and pushing one. The cashiers don't like me much either.
I have two fridges and a chest freezer so I have the space. I just have to go for my fresh fruit and veggies, soy milk and things of that nature.
I also do a lot of freezer cooking so buying in bulk and stocking up saves time and money!

I went to grocery shop when needed and when nothing left to eat in the house. If there is not many things for kitchen or for kid I will go to grocery shop. I always go with my husband and my baby. I shopped every week like you. I dont like to spend one month salary for grocery. I think its a waste if you shop altogether in one day for ur monthly salary. I shopped for wet or raw meat, fish weekly. I dont want to waste the food. :)

My sister prefers going to the local wet market to buy our weekly supply for meat, fish, fruit and vegetables. So when I go to the grocery I only need to buy the dry stuff such as canned goods, cooking oil, bread, milk, detergent bars. I do this once a month so I usually stock on them. Things that we always need for the whole month were always on the list. Aside from the things I mentioned, I would make sure that we have pasta, tomato sauce, all-purpose cream because we are fond of doing fruit salad and spaghetti. It is more practical this way than running to the convenient store each time you need something.

I shope about once a month!! I wait till I am absolutely out of EVERYTHING, and then I go to the groccery store and buy everything in site. I end up taking a cab home. I do it that way, to save on cabfare. If I just need a couple of things, I'll go and get them, but if I need enough to make taking a cab worthit, I'll wait till I need more, to save money.
