A friend of mine is asking me this question. She is about 25 and has a cute boyfriend. She is the only child and her mom therefore really like to see her getting married sooner, especially when she is moving to the US far from home (China). Today she argued with her mom again when talking about her marriage. She is wondering, "why must I get married?"
To prove a love - nobody could guarantee his love or passion is forever right?
To legally make love?
To have baby?
To get financial support?
None of these seems attractive enough to get her married now.
MyLotter friends, what would you say to answer her? Any suggestions are more appreciated.

I guess in Chinese culture getting married is quite important especially to the old people. I would say follow what you feel is right for you and your future. although I know it is difficult to argue especially with your folks. so I guess you'll have to be creative enough to please them. I would suggest you make a compromised with them. What are your plans and your ideal marrying age. There are many ways you could convince them just assure them that you'll get married soon with your current BF or somebody else if you found a better one. :D

I say that it is her life, and she should be the only one to decide what she wants to make herself happy. Marriage isn't for everyone.
