Dying your hair funky colors

I want to get some cute blue streaks in my hair, but I don't want to shell out tons of money at a salon to get it done. My hair is black, so it's going to be a real pain to bleach out the color. Does anyone have any tips that might help? Also, what is a good home-bleaching kit I could buy? Thanks!

ANY bleach would work. Cheaper is no worse than expensive. Bleach kills your hair, but hopefully your hair is probably strong enough to take it at least once. (I bleached mine at least 5 times and it's fine!) then I used manic panic to put major colours in it!

Yeah, my hair is pretty good shape. I'm thinking it can stand up to some bleach. :) And I was looking into Manic Panic for the color also. Thanks for your advice!

You might be able to use Hydrogen peroxide which will make your hair orange. It might be easier to bleach after it is orange. H. peroxide might be all that you need with several applications.
Then you can use the powder mix for Kool-Aid. Get whatever colors you want. Food coloring might also work.

Wow, Kool-Aid and food coloring? That sounds really interesting. I've never heard of people doing that before! Thanks!

i'd love to. i dyed my hair before with a cherry color. i like it, i like red. now its slowly fading and id like to color it back to red. as in super red.=) but i have to consider my school policy because they dont allow it inside the campus. but anyway it's summer and i like to try it back for at least 2 months or so.. =)

A few days ago, I bought Manic Panic dark blue hair dye and their flash lightning (or something?) bleach kit. I hope it turns out well! Cross your fingers!

I really don't have much idea regarding this matter, but iwould suggest that you do it on your own.. Likewise, if you don't want to experiment on hair dye, better go to a salon and ask what brand they usually use and ask how do they apply it in the hair for better results. Then buy the hair dye in a beauty shop otr the like.Goodluck!

Well, personally, I do not get my Hair cut or Colored, etc. due to Rebellious beliefs, but I know how important looks can be. There have been times I have had people fix my hair over the yrs. and the days it looks really nice, it helps with my attitude towards myself, hair is the crowning glory it makes us more confident in ourself if we feel beautiful and satisfied how are hair are being done by the hairstylist.
