Do you know that some people don't even know how much credit card debt that they have? They just block it out-- until one day they decide to add up all their different credit card bills. We currently have about $900 credit card debt, whcih I plan to pay off this week. So...how much credit card debt do you have?

I don't have any credit card debt. I don't believe in using credit in that way. Except for the loan I took out on my house everything I own I have paid cash for. If I see something I want an don't have the cash for it then I wait till I do.

I only have 1 credit card and so far its working fine. My husband has 3 cards, from different banks. All i can say is that credit cards are good for emergency purposes and if you really run out of cash and you need to have groceries by the end of the day. My friendly advise is don't spend way out of your earnings, cos you will definitely be drawned into debts and end up paying bills every payday. As for us we learned our lessons, and we are more mature now money wise compared to our spending habits three years ago. And up to this time we are still paying credit card dues and interests. If you really into a habit of buying stuff, save for it and always look for discounts in items, this will also help. Better buy in bulk than singles. would you agree? But this wont work all the time. Just use your head and control yourself interms of spending.

mine is i think $236 or something like that. i don't focus on debt though. those things you focus on only grow bigger. so if you focus on your savings then that will get bigger. those things you put your thoughts and engery to can only expand. i notice you have a few post about debt. you should start talking about saving

Actually momma, the reason I posted this was to get people to become aware of how much debt they are carrying so maybe they can do something about it. Paying off debt is a weight off of your shoulders-- it feels great! Not thinking about it won't just make it go away, LOL. I understand what you are saying, but you have to focus on it a little bit get it paid off.

You are well under the average. I just watch a show and could not believe how much credit card debt there is. We use them but pay off the balance at the end of the month. Ususally gas and thats a couple of hundred dollars a month.

I'm actually ashamed to say this but we currently have right around $9000 in credit card debt. We had to use it when my husband was temporarily laid off.

Don't feel ashamed, dfinster. I read that the average houseold has $7000-$8000 of credit card debt, so you're not much higher than that! Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do to survive!

I decided not to pay my credit card debt anymore because the finance charge is overwhelming me. Like I never actually paid my balance but the charges. It's like I'm throwing money to the garbage can. It's so damn frustrating! I no longer care if I'm blacklisted. sigh**

I have 5 different credit cards and at time finding hard to keep track of it as every card have different due date for payment. I usually maintain is to Zero, the finance charges is too high, the interest rate is about 20++%. It does not make sence to work for the bank by paying them the bank charges and interest.
