I keep my eyes on the monitor almost 9 hours a day, 5 days a week. And now I have observed that my eyes are starting to hurt. Well, I don't know exactly if it's because of the monitor or is it because I'm just sleepy. But I think the one big factor is the monitor. I hope this won't end up to the point that I'm gonna use an eyeglass or contact lens. I don't want to have any of those. Have you also experienced this? Do you have any suggestions as to how I could get rid of the pain?

yes, this is true that the screen can make your eyes hurt - especially if you are using a CRT type monitor. The constant flashing of the light can even trigger epileptic seizures in some people. When I tried aol out several years back I would get physically ill using their browser - it was because of the flashing lights - it made me weak and pukey

Sometimes... when I stare at the monitor for too long. If you have greeneries where your desk is (and a window), try looking out at the far away greens and relax your eyes. It really works. ;-)

Hours at the keyboard - Too many hours at the keyboard can damage your eyesight
That is way too long to be sitting at the computer. You need to take breaks at least every hour, walk away from the screen, rest your eyes. You can end up ruining your eyesight hun, and it will also cause headaches too. Seriously, take a break, please.

Well, do you really have to look at the monitor all the time? Is it part of your job? If it is, then what I can suggest is, just don't look at the monitor that close. Keep yourself at least a meter away from the monitor, and during breaks, take your time to have breaks. AT least during those times, your eyes are away from the PC's radiations. Hope this helps.
