Why not someone take a serial on Harry Potter?

Hi friends,
Ever since I saw the first film on Harry Potter, I have been so disappointed. It was nothing when compared to the book and I still really like the book a lot more better. That is when I had this idea... there have been so many serials like Full House, The Dolby Show, Little house on the prairie etc... that have characters acting from when they were a child upto their teenage atleast, and Harry Potter has so much in it that it would definitely become a good hit if taken as a serial and aired once a week...that way they could take a year to finish one book and so it would go with the story too... what do u guys think?
But I have this question, most of us are so bound with Daniel as Harry and other characters from the films, so will it be nice to have other people acting as Harry in the serial.. I mean, how welcome would that be?

I can understand why you would want a serial because the books are so long that it is hard to put it all into a movie. However, I don't want there to be a serial because it might look cheap and have bad acting. Also, I don't think that JK Rowling would ever consent to a serial considering how protective she is of those characters and the book. Good idea to think about though!

Thanks for your thought... but I think JKR might not object to it if her fans vote that Harry Potter might do much better as a serial... I just think children will love that as much as adults. I don't understand why it has to look cheap and have bad acting... there are so many wonderful actors out there who will be ready to fill in the wonderful characters that JKR has brought into her books.
